Sounds like a plan. I'm always up for a collaboration.
You and I need to collaborate on something one day. Maybe once we’ve both made a name for ourselves.
Well children are important. Glad you're still writing and getting to do a webcomic. My coworker and I had a pretty nice brainstorming sessions yesterday and today for our book. I'll probably spend tomorrow working on the background notes so she can start making character sheets. I'm still writing the script for the first issue as well but since we're making new interpretations of a famous hero, she can start with some of the character designs. I've been debating about NaNo this year. I have a few story ideas I could do but I'm not sure at the moment because I've got too much on the burner as we speak writing-wise. We'll see. I still need to finish my spooky story cause the contest deadline is the end of the month if I remember correctly and I know it will need a few revisions. I'm more interested in the comic at the moment because the lore and world building are fascinating since I'm messing with canon, and my partners enthusiasm for the project is infectious. I've been gaming more than I mean to lately, but gaming choices have all been thankfully short. Mana Remake is only taking longer than normal cause I'm actually going for the platinum trophy but I'm already at the Mana Fortress and only twenty hours in, so I'm sure I'll finish it within the next few days.
Mostly taking care of the baby. A lot of work because he’s hit a growth spurt. I also have even less time because I have physiotherapy every day after work, so I end up being home really late. But I have been reading a lot, and I think I’m making progress in brainstorming my novel. Playing some Disciples on the side sometimes, though I’m glad I’m able to spend the least amount of my free time on games for once. Funny how you mention comic books, because I don’t know if I’ve told you this but my brother and I have a webcomic planned (he’s a fantastic artist, tbh). It’s supposed to be about a 50s housewife dealing with Lovecraftian horrors. Hilarity ensues. I’m also kind of mentally preparing for NaNo and considering doing it properly this time - ergo, I might just attempt to write a book from scratch. Maybe I’ll do that paranormal investigator lady I told you about some time ago. November is a spooky month, after all.
Not much, went to my annual anime convention, reconnected with a few college friends. Still working on the comic book idea with my coworker, especially since some management changes within the company has given us more reason to get the hell out of there. Other than that, I've been power playing my way through the Secret of Mana remake, which finally inspired me to boot up Seiken Densetsu 3, which I started the other night. I'm also thinking of revisiting my perfect playthrough run of Legend of Mana. So... a lot of Mana and super hero comics. How about you?
So, what’s up, my lupine friend?
Yeah I remember being quite impressed by the range of Edgar Allen Poe when I read one of his compilation books. Glad to hear you're still thinking about the novel, but being unable to pen anything is understandable at the moment.
Wow, sounds like you have a lot on your plate now, but that’s great I say I’m in a slump but it’s really just me being unable to put pen to paper for a while now, but I am constantly brainstorming my novel in my head so that’s good. I think I’ve reached a decision when it comes to the POVs - basically, I may need to wait much longer to introduce the other major players. It helps that I’ve been reading a lot again. Currently reading a short story collection by Sapkowski (Witcher author) and it’s really good. So far the stories I’ve read have been fantasy and horror, but I’ve heard there’s more variety to the book later on so I’m looking forward to it.
Yeah, all the heavy activity people are gone except Jinx and maybee. Though I'm sure most of the forum simply moved to Discord which is a little more active. Sorry to hear you're in a slump. I'm kind of having a similar but opposite issue. I've got a ton of projects I want to work on, but can't stay focused on one long enough to make any significant headway. I've got a Spider-Man story I'm collaborating on with a co-worker cause we're hoping to submit it to Marvel. A short story idea I'm submitting for a Horror Short Story contest and will likely submit for the forum Halloween contest as well. About three longer novels I wish to work on as well, and then I'm fixing up a poem I wrote for one of the writing prompts we used to do that I didn't submit because it needed a lot of work.
So it’s been pretty quiet here lately, huh Finished Suikoden II yesterday. For now I’ll be playing a little bit of Disciples: Sacred Lands when I have the time, but I want to spend the majority of my available time now on writing. It’s hard, and I’m in quite a considerable slump right now, but I’ll do my best.
