Finally got my second floor! Also beat the second boss, and am also beginning summer now I think it was a very good suggestion for an easygoing game. Its fun, its not difficult, and I'm enjoying it. Certainly refreshing right now, especially since I have another difficult game coming my way next. It's also been ranked on my games list, although it could obviously go lower or higher depending how it goes further down the road
Once your room expands, I think Gaius installs the crafting places for you. If it hasn't happened yet, it should be after the next dungeon.

Note on crafting and cooking: Each recipe has a recommended level. You can craft it as much as 9 levels lower, but it will have a chance to fail until you hit the recommended level (higher chance to fail the lower you are). However, you don't actually need to learn the recipe to craft anything. As long as you combine the correct ingredients, it will make the recipe. So, if you want, you can look up how to craft certain gear or food to make without being stuck with the luck of recipe bread. Also, if you ever do decide to play Rune Factory 1, I need to point out that it has an utterly broken economy. Every item sells for a particular amount. That amount is multiplied by the level of the item. So a level 5 piece of Iron is worth 5 times level 1 Iron. A level 1 Diamond sells for 990 gold. Once you reach the second cave, you can start mining Diamond. You can mine it pretty easily and get level 9-11 Diamonds. Do the math.
Love Crystal is one of the two ingredients for a Heart Pendant. Once you unlock accessory crafting, you can make a Silver Pendant by combining Iron and Silver. Then combine the Silver Pendant with that Love Crystal to get the Heart Pendant. You need to increase your accessory crafting skill enough to make them, though. Shino is awesome. She's also one of the strongest warriors in town (story-wise), and will threaten you with physical harm if you should mistreat one of her girls.
Wait no, its a Love Crystal. Just checked. Couldn't remember what it was called I plan to do the quests for as many people as I can I really like Shino as well but she isn't a bachelorette
Yeah, Evelyn is Sofia's sister. Gaius will eventually get a few quests where he tries to woo her, but, being Evelyn, it goes completely over her head. Well, complete all of Ravens quests, at least. Because she has a big secret she's hiding that actually makes her the best companion to fight with in dungeons. You got a Heart Pendant?! Wear it! That's one of the best accessories in the game. It increases the rate at which your Skill Levels increase (x2, I believe), so you get stronger much faster.
Evelyn is Sofia's sister, right? I'm still trying to get everyone's named straight :P I did see a scene where as soon as he let go of his hammer he just passed out. It was cute. I don't think Raven is a bad person at all, she's just not my cup of tea I guess, if that makes sense? And yeah, I can transform now. I went around talking to everyone for some interesting dialogue I got some pretty heart stone thing, that was neat
The owl is involved with something slightly spoilery. Let's see. If you've completed the first dungeon, you should have your transformation ability back, right? Well, throughout the second dungeon (the desert one), you'll learn of another village, one that doesn't exactly get along with the people of Sharance. They are the ones who give their requests using the owl. So just keep going, and you'll find it. Also, Gaius is technically Raven's adoptive brother, she just thinks of him as a father. Yet, in their relationship, she's usually the mature sensible one, and will act in a motherly fashion toward him (making sure he gets to sleep, keeping the place orderly enough to work at, etcetera). So it's an odd family dynamic. If you want, you can make an Engagement Ring and give it to Gaius for some fun and interesting dialogue. Or make a Love Potion, as that has hilarious results no matter who you give it to. Gaius has his eyes on Evelyn, though. Well, one of them. No clue what happened to his other eye.
