Conversation Between Fynn and Pumpkin

  1. Oh also the kids are dependent on the papa now and not the mama. Some characters are original but some look and act almost identical to Awakening characters. Then you get some where it's like "Oh I can see them as the new ___" and some that are original and unique. That's in Birthright so far though, I couldn't say about Conquest.

I liked the jobs, outfits for the jobs, and the art style most. Also the little convo skits. I didn't like the difficulty very much or the chapter repeats or the always pressuring me to do online stuff to get the full experience
  2. Well, that does sound cool, but the character rehashing founds kinda lame because the variety of the characters was one of the coolest things about Awakening :/ Imma still try it, though

What aspects of Bravely Default did you like the most? I could tell you if they're still there, if they're capitalized on or reduced.
  3. Alrighty I can try and give a more indepth answer now that I'm not rushing off to class xD

I like that Birthright is easier because I personally will be able to replay this one more without it feeling like a chore. There's still the harder modes though for those who like a challenge. The concept is interesting and I would like to try the other two storylines as well. The characters are growing on me as I get to know them more, but I do feel like some of them are just rehashes of Awakening characters, which is a bummer. The castle stuff is fun though and adds that little bit of customization
  4. Hmm... Overall, it is even more user-friendly than the first one. The additions made to the gameplay make it really smooth. The random battles are pretty cool with the new "once more" system that replaces the bonuses from the previous game. it works like this - if you win a battle in one turn, you can battle again with a multiplier for exp, jp and money, but the catch is your BP don't get regenerated. So it's a high risk/high reward setup that works really well. That said, the boss battles seem dumbed down, which is a disappointment, because I really liked the challenge of BD.

The characters are still pretty fun and there's a lot of lighthearted scenes. The game doesn't treat itself too seriously, and these light conversation segments are not only frequent, but also very welcome. The main story seems pretty meh so far, though I won't denounce it yet. The music, however, is noticeably weaker, if still good. The new jobs are pretty awesome, though.

So in the end, I think it balances out. Some things are changed for the better, others are weaker, but overall it's a pretty comparable package.
  5. How does Bravely Second compare to Bravely First?
  6. Not sure yet
  7. And how does it compare to Awakening?
  8. Almost caught up to where I was before I had to restart. Luckily I wasn't too far yet and this way I could make a few adjustments
  9. Yeah, good point. How's FE?
  10. Hopefully. Working on my study guide this weekend. And even if melancholy isn't bad, the urge to write is even better!
