  1. I feel I sometimes lose my characters goals while writing.
  2. Oh, the ending is pretty set for me as well. It’s the personal goals, wants vs needs, etc that tends to become too complicated. I hope I can bring it down to something much more manageable soon
  3. Woot, super cool. I have a real soft spot for the first game, but the second entry is significantly better, so if you end up getting bored with the first one, don't let that deter you from playing the sequel.

I'm usually pretty good about coming up with a clear ending idea for most of my stories, of anything, titles with no clear ending tend to be the ones I stall on the fastest.
  4. Btw I got a gift card at work for my birthday and bought Suikoden II on my Vita for it. So now I have both I and II so I’ll probably play them sometime in the future
  5. Watched the video you linked. Very interesting. I have heard about the argument for keeping your story summary simple before and I actually think about that a lot, wishing I could come up with a way to really make the story I’m thinking of coherent. It is easy to get swept away with scenes and character moments and just forget that there has to be a clear goal from the start
  6. Very true.
  7. Yup. The Devil Summoner series is basically SMT lite in the best possible meaning of that phrase.
  8. Yeah, the setting and atmosphere of the games are fantastic. I often feel it's one of the strengths of the Devil Summoner entries cause even Soul Hackers is pretty groovy with it's cyberpunk themes.
  9. If there’s one thing I really Love about the Raidou games, it’s the tone. It has this underlying dark current that makes it feel still very much like an SMT game, and yet at the same time it’s very light, adventurous, and fun, with tons of humor sprinkled in. I’m not too far in yet, but it’s great.
