I do actually like her charatcer, but that doesn't mean that I find her important. I also like Amarant's "strong and quiet" character, but I know he is useless. I also LOVE Quina's character, but he/she is also useless to the story, because any other character could be comic relief. Any new character too, I guess.
Not really, the cleyra part. "oh it's that direction I think." over "well we have to go this way and to get through the sandstorm we need to do this." Just because you don't like her doesn't mean she wasn't important.
But you could have gone to Burmecia without Freya, and you could have gone to Cleyra without Freya(The soldier that came gets you to go to Burmecia, a soldier after the Beatrix battle could be there to tell you to go to Cleyra).
Yeah it would. No burmecia would or clerya would have happened. Well you wouldn't have gone cause you wouldn't have known of clerya. Which means you wouldn't have seen The queen destroy it meaning you wouldn't know she was as evil as you thought which would mess up the whole garnet arch. Just because it's in the beginning doesn't mean it's unimportant. That's like saying hermione doesn't matter in the HP universe cause she never does anything that important beside help harry occasionally.
Zidane also has all of his other friends. Without Freya, the main story would not be hurt very much.
She's a friends and the story goes, to have your friends near you is the best thing of all! Don't be emo zidane! If you don't like freya you hate friendship
Well, Zidane is important because he is from the same place as Kuja... Steiner is important because he is Garnet's guard... Vivi is important because he is a black mage, which Kuja made... Garnet is important because she is a Queen, a summoner, and on and on... Eiko is important for being a summoner as well as Garnet's relative... Amarant is not very important at all, he could be completely taken out of the game. Much worse than Freya... Quina is important only for being comic relief. If anyone else had Quina's role, I would love them just as much... Freya is also not very imprtant. Most of her involvment in the story has nothing to do with the main story... I will admit, however, that Freya has the most interesting backstory, but as for the main story, I don't see a very large use for her.
