I had to split the message in half; read the other one first! Writing just a little bit every day, and sticking to posting one solid letter a day, is really helping my writing habit. You should try it out! Write up a few characters and a story synopsis, and just write a little bit of it every day. Break it up into tiny chunks. This may sound conceded, but their relationship fascinates me too. I'm having a lot of fun writing them. Where I'm writing right now, there's actually a little bit of drama between them, and no letters are sent for a few months. If I may say so, this is one of my better writing ideas XD I'd love to have a little blog affiliation going on! It'll help both of us stay motivated! Woo!
I'm working on a full goatee right now. I can grow a beard and a mustache, but they just won't connect! I definitely wrote 'bard' first. It made me laugh. I CAN GROW A BARD. Exactly. I still write every day, so I just get further and further ahead of the actual publication, but that gives me a lot of room to analyze each individual letter before I post it, so that I can make sure that everything works out and sounds the way that I want it. Like you said, it also gives me some leeway, just in case I'm not feeling motivated, or some real-life stuff is going on or something. It also KEEPS me motivated, which is weird but awesome. Basically, if I'm not feeling motivated, I just post whichever letter is next, and by the time I'm done reading through it and the subsequent letters, I'm like "GAH I WANT TO GET TO WRITING THIS PART ALREADY BECAUSE IT WILL BE AWESOME," and I end up motivated again.
I wish I could grow a manly beard Giving yourself a buffer is brilliant though. Then, if you find yourself with a day you're really not motivated, or you're struggling to get it to work or even you're too busy to write, then you can still post one up and not let me down I'm really looking forward to them maturing too, and seeing how that changes them. The dynamic of their relationship fascinates me already, oh boy. I guess I need to start putting some decent works together and then volunteer as your first associate
The only issue I have with the picture is that it was taken a few days after I quit my job, so I was still clean shaven at the time. My manly beard is not present. It's funny, because I actually have a lot written already. I want to stick to the one post a day format I have though, just to stay consistent. Eventually, the letters will be of a longer nature, what with the two maturing and all that jazz, but for now, they're just kids, so at times it's a little frustrating trying to fit all of the information I want into the size of letter and vocabulary of someone their age. I'm actually trying to set the blog up so that I can use it more as a publication blog in the future. It'll feature all of my writing, but I can also publish writing by other authors, mostly other bloggers, in an attempt to let the audiences of the two blogs inter-mingle a little bit. Seems like a good idea, but the blog has to actually have an audience first XD
As a reader I want to demand you do more, but as a writer I understand your method and agree perfectly. If the task becomes too large then you might lose focus and then the readers will have nothing, and that's a crime The prospect of other tales interests me but I must admit I'm quite enjoying just the one thus far. I don't remember the last time I saw a fountain out and about but next time it's hot and there's one around, I will have to get a photo to match
I'm glad that you're liking it! It's slow moving right now, but I have a lot planned for it. It's nice, because I only have to write a little bit every once in a while, but often enough to keep me in the habit. I'll be posting other stories and whatnot on the blog eventually, but not quite yet. That picture was taken at the water gardens in Corpus Christi. It was burning hot out, and I only had my house shoes on, which kept getting wet, so I just took them off and walked around in the water to keep my feet from catching on fire. Thanks for the encouragement! I have very few readers right now, so every little bit helps a lot!
I am enjoying Letters From Sarah, quite a lot. I can only foresee sadness though I'm glad to see another update today though, you keep up the good work Mr Mogi! Also you in a fountain as your profile pic, very very nice. xD
OH MAN. You've made my day, you have made my day! Thank you for devoting time to music creation! I'm choosing to think you did this purely for my benefit
I actually spent the last week or so working on nothing but music, since I quit my job recently. I just posted my newest recording in the Writer's Corner. You should check it out.
That's understandable! I just hope you don't give up on it because I demand more excellence
