come back to me sugar bear
Sounds cool! Keep at it, bro. It can be easy to lose steam/experience burn out so if you start to get to that point, step back and do something else for a bit until the ideas rush back. That way you don't end up totally sick of it
Well the technical parts of VX and XP are also something I hated (which had some things that I also kind of liked. dohoho call me a masochist I guess) but I dislike them because the default resources that they come with; they aren't an eye sore like the older versions, which means people don't have an incentive to find or create their own, which then leads to a bunch of games that look exactly the same and that just puts me off. There are exceptions of course. Scope? I don't know. It actually might be pretty long...ETA on when it'll be finished? I also don't know. Hopefully summer? I released a really really really alpha five-minute demo thing two days ago to some IRC guy and he said he liked it, but it degrades naturally in time spent on detail the further you get into the demo. There's actually a lot that has changed from when I released it to where it is now, and when you finish it you get a kind of a preview of what I have in store for the rest of the game!
I totally understand that. I have that problem when writing anything. But, yeah, you kinda just have to... go. Once you start getting into the heads of the characters, it all feels so much more natural, but it takes time. I still dig 2000, but I never played too much with the later ones. Something about its simplicity allows you to actually jump in and develop stuff a lot more, which is good when you want to just focus on the non-technical aspects of it all. I have a lot of ideas that have had trouble going because of having to focus so much on the technical side (as well as media creation... pain in the ass) Anyways it sounds pretty cool! What's the scope of it? Think you have an ETA on when it'll be finished?
It's a fantasy/scifi RPG in RPG Maker 2000. Not 2003 because making custom battle sprites is LOL and I have certain reasons for not using VX or XP. Man, creating the initial dialog was rough because everything sounded corny, so I just had to hold my breath and now I've got this momentum pushing me through it haha.
What kinda thing are you making? Also what version of RPG Maker?
Ooh I bet! Speaking of RPG Maker, I'm working on something and I'm actually making good progress!
Noice. There are many fine institutions one state south of you!
Yeah I am a senior negroid. I'm gonna go to community college for two years and then transfer to God knows where haha.
I did hear about that but I haven't taken advantage of it! I don't know if I've even had a crunchwrap before. Maybe that'll be my lunch tomorrow. But yeah speaking of college, you're a senior atm right? Planning on going to school anywhere yet?
