  1. I'd also use it to watch all of Doctor Who in order.
  2. I suspect if time machines were invented they'd mostly be used for trivial things like that. Which would generate shortages of merchandise in the past and thus drive the price up at the time too. And probably create all kinds of paradoxes
  3. Makes me wish I had a time machine so I can go back, grab a bunch of the older comics while they were brand new in their original packaging, come back and make so much smurfing money.
  4. A lot of comic heroes have been around way longer than people think.
  5. I didn't even know Green Arrow has been around since 1941. Damn. He's up there with Superman and Batman in terms of age.
  6. And of course they wouldn't be aware that Green Arrow has existed since 1941.

And yeah that seems to be their excuse for what they're doing, but it's not a very good one. If Batman is no longer unique then he's not as appealing.

  7. I feel like their mindset is: People love Batman because he's dark and edgy. So let make all the other superheroes dark and edgy!

I don't know much about Green Arrow outside the Justice League cartoon, Smallville and Arrow on the CW. Though it sounds like he may be good as an additional character like Hawkeye was, but then I could see people going, "He's just a Hawkeye rip off!" Causing many stir all across Facebook and YouTube comment sections. Though I feel such a thing is inevitable with how much DC and Marvel parallel each other.
  8. Yeah I don't get why they're trying to do such a dark take on heroes like Superman and Wonder Woman. They're not supposed to be dark.

Green Arrow is a potentially very interesting character but it all depends on what they do with him. I can't imagine a cynical take on him working, since the character himself is so idealistic. I don't know if you could do a feature film with him because ~communism~ (though I guess not all writers portray him the way Miller did), but lord knows I'd love it.
  9. Thanks! It's pretty challenging since DC seems to be cursed with people not caring about a lot of things outside of Superman and Batman. I think you could probably make more money off a Supergirl and Batgirl spinoff movie than some of the other Justice League heroes on their own, sadly. That said, they seem to be doing a good job of selling Green Arrow on his own so I don't know.

I think Batman is the only one that should be trying to be edgy. Things like Superman should be more uplifting and fun to watch. Marvel does a good job of embracing the absurdity that comes with their heroes, I feel.
  10. yeah it's kind of a shame recent DC seems to be trying to be ~edgy~ rather than making, you know, good comics. It's an interesting thought experiment though. Maybe when I've slept better I'll be able to post something coherent.

I guess at least Marvel has proven to be pretty reliable lately. Which is odd because for awhile Marvel was the one that had jumped the shark and DC was the one publishing great stuff with Morrison and Gaiman and other great writers.
