But clearly each individual person is the centre of their own universe and must therefore sway everybody to their side or else, I don't know, they go to hell or whatever. Obviously there are some things people are really passionate about but arguing over liking video games seems pointless. Can't we discuss health care policies or what to do about those darn ice caps?
Agreed. For example, if I like something, I fail to see why another person doesn't like something is supposed to suddenly make me turn around 180 degrees. The problem with most discussions is that very few people want to actually discuss something and feel that it is their obligation to turn another's opinion to theirs. I used to think this was just an internet thing, but I have noticed that kind of behavior in real life more and more. There are many times I just keep my mouth shut because if I share my opinion on why I like vanilla flavor or whatever, I don't feel like I have to get in a debate that rivals Presidential ones during election season over how my damn taste buds like! /rant
Claims of objectivity always make me laugh. At least until the point where I want to smack them in the face for being pushy. My opinion is my opinion and I like to think I make a well-informed choice because of my education allowing me deeper insights, but other people can feel whatever they want to feel. It's a video game for Yevon's sake xD
But 10+ year old games are serious business, and one ALWAYS must be right on the internet. It's in the constitution, and it is the one amendment that applies worldwide!
