I think I id the same thing, but mine was more of just not wanting the fight to reset again, cause that was the bigger issue with the fight for me.
So far none have really cause trouble yo me, though I do regret cheesing Zalera with Quickenings. I was in a hurry.
Of those three, only Zeromus gave me trouble and that's because the lack of group healing combined with BS undead encounter rate makes that fight a pain. Exodus died before I even really started and Chaos is manageable once you get rid of the Elementals guarding him. Honestly, the only Espers that gave me a real headache were Zeromus and Zodiark. Even Ultima fell after my second or third attempt, which was really quick considering she was the one I struggled with the most in the vanilla version.
I don’t think I’m ready. I’ll probably return for her later. After Exodus, Zeromus, and Chaos.
It wasn't so terrible, just time consuming. Of anything, it was easier the second time around because I've been doing a much better job keeping my whole team well leveled. My first time through years back ended with me doing the whole return trip with no items and only two characters left alive. Glad you got those Mark Hunts done, Save the Queen is a great weapon, though nothing compared to Excalibur. Are you going to try Ultima while in Giruvegan?
That sounds brutal. Glad you’re almost done with the game, at least! Meanwhile, I managed to defeat Deathscythe and Goliath before the trip to Giruvegan, so woo to that! Got Save the Queen and everyrhing
No, this is an archaic Tactical RPG, so it's a do it all at once experience. Hell, I just discovered last night how to change accessories mid-battle which would have been super useful to know for that dungeon... On the brightside, I'm at the very end of the first game, and I'll soon be able to jump into the vastly better Arc the Lad 2.
Well the advice helped, thanks. I got him. I’ve also beaten Ba’Gamnan no problem and am now taking on Gilgamesh. It’s ridiculous how Elite hunts are easier than the regular ones in friggin Nabudis And man, that’s rough! Do you at least get to save between floors?
Depending on what magic you have, I would go in with a full mage party and maybe one melee but crowd control is your friend for that fight at first and then it's all about healing. Black Belt's to counter immobilize are a necessity. Arc the Lad has reminded me of why I strongly dislike multi-floor dungeons in Tactical RPGs. I just did the optional 50-Floor Super Dungeon and it took me most of the freaking night to complete. Not helped that the devs thought it would be a great idea to make sure there is no warp out of the final floor and instead I have to waltz back up through all fifty floors...
Didn’t really go in with much of a setup, actually. I can see that I need to do some status ailment mitigation at least. My party is in their mid-forties.
