Yep, macroing spells in town does not gain Resist. However, if you macro out of town (say, in a house), then the spells do full damage. So unless you have a GM healer with thousands of bandages to macro with you, in town doing just magery is your best bet. If you want to build resist, you can get to just over 50 relatively quickly just using fire fields (that stops at 50.5, I think). Beyond that, you might have to wait until we make more characters to macro with.
