If and got into a fight with as the special guest referee who would win?
Fynn's gonna hit the books.
I'm actually thinking of doing some post-graduate studies regarding game making. We'll see how that goes.
Who knows. I have a brother and cousin who wants to get into game design. Well, I think my cousin tried harder to get the education needed. My brother just mentioned it in passing. Originally my cousin just wanted to be a video game tester. I guess that fell through. There was a time when I just wanted to make movie trailers and tricking people out of their hard earned money by making them think the movie is ten times better than it actually is. -evil laugh-
It's crazy. But the satisfaction is probably immense regardless, considering people still want to do it.
I actually did an article last Thursday about the woes of video game developing. That's how I found out they don't get paid any overtime. That'd be enough to dissuade me from the profession right there.
Ugh... You don't even know half of it, man. I'm on the translation team for Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition. Mind you, it's the official translation team, chosen by Beamdog. Guess how much we get paid. Unless you guessed "zero", you're dead wrong. The company decided it'd be a great idea to just ask the fans of the original release on their forums to translate the new content pro bono. And guess what? We're totally doing it. I'm hoping that at least I still get to put that on my résumé and later do something connected to game translation, but yeah, even though I'm really excited to translate additional content to one of my favorite games, it's a total rip-off. Also, my task is basically retranslating one character's dialogue, as the company decided to "help us" by giving us the dialogue which was already translated by someone else. Too bad it's a blind idiot translation :
It's a wonder how any of these games get made at all with all the bulltrout that goes into making them.
