Conversation Between Fynn and Wolf Kanno

  1. The original Devilman was a pretty bleak series. I'll check it out when I can, sadly, I have not really been in the anime scene for several years now. I've grown a bit disenfranchised with the culture and trends. Most of my anime viewing lately has been me collecting older works from the 70s and 80s like Leiji Matsumoto's works, and trashy post-apocalyptic stuff.
  2. I know, I’ve read about those. But I have heard that Devilman has influenced SMT to a degree and then there’s also the fact that, apparently, this thing is really good (it’s directed by the guy who did Tatami Galaxy which was excellent, so I have great faith in it) and actually deals with a lot of similar themes.
  3. Oddly enough, I had just heard about it yesterday when I was watching a special about Go Nagai getting a 50th Anniversary for several of his series.

Though if you want a MegaTen anime, Tokyo Revelations is an actual MegaTen anime, not to mention the actual, though comically awful Megami Tensei OVA from the 80s.
  4. Btw, have you seen Devilman Crybaby? I’ve heard a lot of good things and am kinda interested. Someone said something like it’s the closest we’ve ever gotten to a good SMT anime lol
  5. Well then, now you know what you can add to your inevitable fiction backlog
  6. I still need to finish my Lovecraft book, but the rest are just historical collections or memoirs.
  7. That’s great! Honestly, you can’t really read too much - everything you read matters
  8. I have an even bigger backlog of reading than games though...
  9. Don’t worry, I’m the same way Not only that, money’s tight so far, so it will be a while until I get to the series. Give you more than enough time to prepare too :P (Also, the Witcher books have fan translations available online for free, just an fyi )
  10. I figure you would say that. To be honest I have enough of a backlog at the moment that I'm not really too wild about the prospect of adding anymore to it. I was secretly happy that the Dissidia Beta didn't wow me cause it meant I could hold off on it, though I'm sad I may not be able to pick up the Secret of Mana remake for awhile.

The more I get into Dark Souls 2, the more I just want to play Bloodborne more.
