No problem. A bit pressed for time right now so I will get back to you by tomorrow at the latest. I promise this time.
I have questions about how good/bad for my diet certain food are, if you don't mind. Cheese omelet Potatoes More cheese Tacos (I imagine its similar to nachos ;__; ) Lasagna Cheeseburgers Chicken Pot Pie
Sounds like a smart decision to me.
Well I'm getting my birthday cake tonight so I'll start watching that stuff more once its all gone >.>
I know. I love candy and chips. Life isn't fair. Sounds like you're probably eating enough though, so just try to keep those carbs low. If you want though, feel free to pig out on nachos on the weekend or something. I'll be eating pizza myself tonight. A whole pizza.
Okay thank you. I really like bread and nachos ;__; I've been using a program which calculates calories, fat, sodium, protein etc, and says how much you should have or the most you should have for the unhealthier things. I seem to eat between 1000-1500 calories a day on average.
Yep. Sorry, I've been a bit busy. First thing I'd say is try to ditch bread, grains, and the nachos as much as you can. Once or twice a week is no problem but you don't want them too often. For sandwiches, since I've recently been on a sandwich kick myself, I replace the bread with romaine lettuce. The crisper the better. Holds together quite well for a sub type sandwich, and ditches the worst part of it. I actually enjoy it more since I'm not a big bread fan. With the soups, one thing to watch if you're making canned soup is salt content. I'm not concerned for your blood pressure, but a lot of them are really salty which can leave some people feeling bloated and retaining water which can obviously skew the weight loss a bit. Also try to have meat with the smaller meals as well if you aren't already. Deli turkey, ham, a small steak, whatever. Doesn't matter, just want it in there. On the exercise front, intensity beats volume by a considerable margin. When you run or bike, you'll probably do better doing interval training. Something like bike or jog nice and easy for 30 seconds, all out sprint for 30 seconds, and repeat for ten minutes or whatever. And you can start with smaller sprint intervals if you need to work up to it, or if you run outside when the warm weather gets here, I used to go running and I'd jog to one telephone pole, sprint to the next, then jog again. And as I got more tired I might be barely slogging through the jogging part, but I always tried to keep the sprint as fast as I could. Anyway, the reason behind this is that training like this has a ton of benefits. It's better for building muscle, it boosts metabolism for as much as 24 hours after the workout, and it will burn more calories in less time than just going for a jog or a steady bike ride. Also, I'm not sure if you've been counting calories, but it might be good to keep a food journal for a bit and track how much you're eating just to make sure you're eating enough. It's a bit counter intuitive, but not eating enough can really slow the metabolism and actually make you gain weight. And because the metabolism slows down you can be eating less than you should and still feel full after you eat. Human bodies are weird.
Any advice?
I do the um Wii fit program for an hour everyday. So I do yoga, strength training, and aerobics like running, step, boxing, and hula hoop. I go to the gym once or twice a week and do running and bicycling. As far as food, I generally have one large meal a day with meat and usually some kind of veggy and then one or two smaller meals like nachos or soup or a sandwich or a salad or something. Which is pretty much the same as its always been, minus the exercise. Somehow now I'm gaining weight.
Can you give me as many details as possible about your exercise regimen and diet? I'll do my best to figure out things you can try so the more information the better. Don't give up though! Sometimes we have setbacks. What you've learned right now is what isn't working so now we can make some changes to keep trying to find what will!
