Did you add that yourself? I haven't found a pistol yet. I'm pretty unfamiliar with editing mods and all of that, but I might have to give it a go to pimp my sword Impressive to take down that many dudes! I got smurfed up a bit, accidentally surrendered and then kept getting captured until it was just me and one of my hero dudes. We took down a few of them, but I mean it was 2 v 800 so I didn't hold my breath. xD
Ah right. I'm actually just about to take that corner of the map now, so I'll see what happens. I recently garrisoned all my 90ish troops, leaving myself alone, and attack an army of Nords; roughly 400 men. I just wanted to see how long I could last. Took them down to just below 300 over the course of two battes, hehehehe! I keep a shield in my off-hand while on horseback, just because I may as well, but when on foot it goes on my back (I edited Excalibur to make it a bastard sword, because it seemed more appropriate). My Firearms skill (which is hidden) has gone up to around 200 now, simply because of my shameless overuse of the pistol, haha. It basically works like a retextured crossbow, but it's just so much cooler!
It was Tihr and Curin Castle, or whatever the Castle is just near Tihr. Spastic as hell. My dude was very similar to yours, except I'm wielding a tempered sabre that does 37 swing damage. I use it to just cut a path no matter where I got. Always like to keep a shield handy 'cause archers are whores. Also, my guy is really really good at archery, hence his name: Wil Eaglesight. There are only four castles and two towns that are yet to belong to the Khergit Horde
Do you remember which castles or towns they were? If so, I'll go and conquer them in a tsunami of bloody fury, slaughtering hundreds, if not thousands, of people purely for the sake of bug checking. I'm currently wielding a Sword of War, which I have renamed Excalibur. It is obscenely good. What's your guy like?
There was one map where you couldn't climb the weird ramp; my soldiers just stood at the bottom getting shot by arrows instead of going up the siege ramp. There was also another one where the city was about 3m above the ground, so I ran under a spastic part of the wall that was raised and just stabbed the guys who were crowded there, unable to climb the stairs to get onto the wall and beyond.
Really? Bugged how?
That's the kind of simple instruction I needed! Gah. I'm looking forward to trying out some more of these sieges, although the ones I've played so far have been bugged to hell xD
It's so good. I finally lost the castle, though. Whereas the enemy can spawn a near infinite amount of soldiers right out its arse, I have very limited supplies. I accidentally left the town and was attacked by 500 men on the fields outside. Killed 37 enemies before going down, but it wasn't nearly enough haha. I've no clue how you're supposed to take over the whole map; it's smurfing impossible to raise a big enough army to take on the hundreds and thousands of soldiers the lords and kings can field. GRAGH. Ah, yeah, I know what you're talking about. In item_kinds1.txt, at the very top, before the list of items begin, is a number. Most likely it is 603. You need to add however many items there are in the mod (I think 529?) to that number and change it. Soooo...1132.
Yeah I did a great siege defence like that once. Me and 100 men faced a horde of 400 or so dude. I lost like 10 men, stood victorious Question: the item mod said something about changing numbers in the items file somewhere, but I couldn't figure it out. I dunno if I have a pistol in the game yet or what
I'm currently fighting off a siege of my own town right now. The first wave attacked: 162 enemy troops against my 69 (of which only around 30 were actually on the castle walls due to the contraints of my PC). I stood atop the siege ladder and swung like a mad bastard. I single-handedly killed two waves of reinforcements. Once the battle was done, 156 of my enemy lay dead, whilst only 1 of my own was killed. Awesome. I took a screenshot of my character just covered in blood, head to toe, with the walls around me peppered with arrows like at the end of Hero (great film, by the way), but it didn't work because I wasn't using FRAPS, haha. Don't worry, though: my enemy still has 350 troops at my walls!
