Conversation Between Skyblade and Pumpkin

  1. Children are based on the mother, but they inherit skills and classes from the father. So there is a lot of min/maxing potential. There are also some kids you'll probably like better than others, so you'll probably want them to have fathers you like as well.

It doesn't matter when you marry, you can start recruiting kids any time after Chapter 13. But some kids are awesome, and some parent combinations are definitely better.
  2. ? So then I won't get to recruit their kids?
  3. If they marry before Chapter 13 you won't get to see who the kids are, or test out which couples make the best kids.
  4. Is it for the kids thing? If they marry before chapter 13 will they not have kids?
  5. You HAVE to marry Chrom at that point. Anyone else can marry whenever they want. I would actually advise waiting until after Chapter 13 to have anyone else reach S Rank (you'll see why).

Chrom pairs best with either Sumia or Olivia (it's heavily debated who is better, but many agree that Sumia is). So you're ok there.

Ashton can marry any male unit, so just pick one you will be happy with. Ashton can even marry Chrom, if you want.
  6. I umm, have those two up to a B at Chapter 5 and Frederick and Ashton (me) are now at an A.

So can I marry characters past Chapter 11 or is it like I'll miss my chance past then?

Also, do those seem like good couples for the game?
  7. Characters can get married. When you gain Support Ranks, you can get C, B, A, and S ranks. A couple that gets to S Rank gets married (and while any character can get as many C, B, and A ranks as they want, they can only get one S rank per game). Chrom can thus be married to Sumia, Sully, Maribelle, and Olivia. He also gets married automatically to the girl he has the highest Support rank with after Chapter 11, so if you don't marry him off, he'll do it on his own.
  8. I think you responded to my thread before my edit :P

I appreciate all of the advice! Is there a way to get Sumia and Chrom together? I heard characters can get married but I never got very far and I don't know how all of that works
  9. I wasn't meaning to argue either: just explain. There isn't (or shouldn't be, I don't know the laws where you live) any law keeping people from buying alcohol on Sunday. But there also shouldn't be any law forcing people to sell it on Sunday. If there are enough people who think alcohol should be sold on Sunday, someone would sell to them. The market potential is there.

Abortion is much the same way. According to proponents of forcing doctors to perform abortions, something like 98% of doctors have listed moral objections to doing so. You'd think, with thousands, if not millions, of proponents for abortion, they'd be encouraging more of them to become doctors and start abortion clinics. But, no. The goal is instead to make it harder for those who have objections to object, to force them to compromise their morality for others. That is not right.

There are millions of businesses in the US alone. There are easily hundreds of hobby stores. Any of Hobby Lobby's competitors could use this against them. They could offer extra benefits to potential employees and lure them away. They could get good publicity by treating employees well or publicly showing support and success with the Obamacare laws. But rather than do that, they're going to try to force Hobby Lobby to compromise their morality.

Again, I know this ruling is going to be misused. But it's hardly alone in that regard. The breaks and protections of religion have been misused for a long time (just look at Scientology). That doesn't mean they shouldn't be there.

The government cannot be allowed to dictate morality or religion. I am not allowed to force employees to convert to my religion. Similarly, they aren't allowed to force me to convert to theirs. If you feel you should have a right to free contraception from your employer, you are free to work for someone else. Similarly, if I believe I have a right to withhold that service, I am free to drive away employees and even customers (don't think that there aren't people boycotting them because of this). Which is more important: the business, or the religion?
  10. Not meaning to argue with you in thread about the alcohol sales and we're getting off topic anyways, plus I have to go to work now, so might be better continued through PM as to avoid derailing the thread further :P
