Yeah, that's pretty much it. I know in West Auckland that the gangs are formed to protect themselves from other gangs. Which is pretty stupid, if you think about it. I remember once a biker gang lived across the road from me Mongrel Mob they were pretty scary but one time one of them came over because he needed to borrow a ladder and he seemed like a pretty nice guy

All organized Asian gangs in New Zealand hail back to Asian circuits. There are asian street gang possibly authentic to New Zealand but they seem to lack success and usually end up not going anywhere
