The casinos in DQ are pure evil and it's honestly bothered me that there's so much focus on them. But what the hey. I still love DQ.
Yeah, I've never saw the appeal myself. Apparently DQ's creator loves gambling which is why casinos pop up so much in his games.
So yeah, getting 500,000 yen through code breaker was pretty easy, and I liked that there was actually more than sheer luck to it. By the end, I could get the prize I wanted pretty safely. Now I've moved on to poker to get those 19,000 coins and currently have 15,900 and boy, do I not enjoy something that relies on luck so much. How do people even get addicted to gambling? It's infuriating!
Yep, I honestly feel she's better in Persona 2.
Oh i meant that in the best way possible. Shes great
Eriko is actually my favorite character in P1. She doesn't take trout from anyone and her arrogance can be kind of adorkable. Course I blame part of this on the fact she's a returning and playable character in P2:EP where she is pretty awesome overall. Ayase, Brown, and Yukki are the three heartless assholes in the party. Yeah, they have slight elements of the Law and Chaos going on for them, but it's really more as you said, the id versus the superego. While I initially didn't care for either of them, I came to appreciate them through multiple playthroughs.
Btw, is it just me, or are Mark and Nanjo kind of stand-ins for a law and chaos hero in this game, with Maki being the heroine? Of course, alignments don't really play a role in this series, but their outlooks pretty much lie within the more mild interpretations of the alignments. Though it's probably more appropriate to call them the id and the superego to your protagonist. Nanjo is very detached and calculating, while Mark is the epitome of acting before thinking and acting on your emotions. Also, Elly is pretty savage. I never noticed this since I never really had her in my party for long, but now whenever I go into the casino there's this guy flirting with her and saying he'll protect her from the demons, and she shuts him down completely, ending it with a punctuated "bother. someone. else.", all with that grin on her portrait. You weren't kidding when you said the SSQ crew is a bunch of Mean Girls.
Btw, I actually heard about the incident that the game you linked is about! Too much time spent watching Alltime Conspiracies
Well that's good. Money never seemed like an issue for me, and I only focused on getting the Megidoloan stones for fusion.
I might check it out then! By the way, started playing Code Breaker in the casino and I'm not doing bad! Already earned 200,000 yen through it, so I'm almost halfway there! Then I have to move on to the other games for coins...
