Kind of weird how much more I enjoy JRPGs games on handhelds these days. I haven't even played I am Setsuna yet because of that, but I'm really looking forward to the Switvh version. Rerelease of the other games on the system could probably easily make me a fan.
If either ever gets released here. Honestly, being a DQ fan in the West feels like being in a hostage situation sometimes.
Ooh, that's cool. I will probably pick at least one up on the Switch when it comes out. Probably not the MMO for starters, though.
I might check it out someday then! Btw, got DQVIII day-one and I just remembered that there's one thing in particular that you might like about the series as a whole - the main religion in all the games is clearly and evidently inspired by Catholicism (to the point that there's only male priests, but also nuns and monks and whole hierarchies), and completely benevolent, to the point that you save at churches by confessing. Sure, there are some hints of corruption in the church in VIII, but overall this is a very positive - and very refreshing for Japanese media - take on a Catholicism-inspired religious organization.
I recommend it. My favorite film version of the story. Watching it this last Christmas, though, his performance really made me realize how much of a book nerd and word lover Scrooge is.
Don't think so
I first had it pointed out to me by one of the Black Widower mysteries. Great little short stories by Isaac Asimov. That would've been, what, fifteen years ago? I always enjoyed wordplay and etymology. Though not enough to make a career out of it. Out of curiosity, have you ever seen George C. Scott's performance in "A Christmas Carol"?
I could imagine it's not common knowledge for people who are neither English and Polis, or have no background in linguistics. It's great that you know, though!
Sorry, just one of those interesting little facts that came to my mind recently. My job involves polishing silicon wafers (part of the microchip fabrication process), so I shared it with my coworkers. Not a lot of people realize it.
Skyblade, I am a linguist. Of course I know that.
