Yeah I have a bad habit of focusing on games that require you to play straight through and then accidentally taking long breaks from them. Like I'm currently doing with Xenoblade Chronicles... Again... I've put over sixty hours into that game. I could have beaten two or three other games lol Though I did stumble across that super fun Sonic clone that's pretty pick up and play. Though it also has a surprisingly decent story too.. I really should expand my horizons some but it's hard to find games with that it factor in some genres for me. I never thought I could get into visual novels until randomly giving 999 a try. And that turned out to be fantastic. But very dark and cerebral. With a good story and well crafted characters. Now I need to play the sequel on my Vita TV
Well I'm sure there'll be some disappointments for you on my games list >.< Only like 20 games to go I hope you keep enjoy the LP. The big scary guy is just the sweetest man, but yeah not the most attractive. How his daughter happened is beyond me. I like all kinds of games but RPGs are my favourites. I like how long they are so you can really get invested, and I like them being story heavy so its like an interactive book almost. Characters seem to be the biggest thing for me. Like they could make or break a game. I would have liked FFVII soooo much more if I actually gave a crap about the characters, which I barely did, and same thing with Bravely Default. Meanwhile games like Agarest War that I'm playing right now, I barely even know what the story is, but I loove the character scenes. That's obviously not 100% mind you, but its pretty consistent. The second type of game I like is just fun to play games like Ape Escape or Girls Fashion Shoot that are pretty weak in everything except fun. Because sometimes I just want something lighthearted that I can pick up after a year and not have to start over or not have to THINK, just play and have fun
I actually used to love Excel Saga. So random and insane. But that's a character that is supposed to be spastic and shrieky, and not realistic in the slightest. So she makes a good example of what Chie is not supposed to be I try not to judge people on their preferred gaming lists. Though try is the optimal word. Something about games like Zelda or Call of Duty kinda trigger something in me. Probably because I don't "get" those games. But to each their own I'm not sure if I've seen the latest Harvest Moon update, but I remember the big scary guy randomly upgrading your house. He looks so much like a bad guy, it's pretty funny that he's so friendly and helpful. And the one little dude making crazy faces wanting recipes was pretty amusing. I really don't think I could get into a game like that though. Harvest Moon and Animal Crossing. So I enjoy them vicarious through people like you lol I guess I like to thwack stuff and teach bad guys a lesson and be forced to think about life in the process. Its weird how much I love the intellectual aspect of some games. It's so hard to capture and appreciate most times. It's barely worth the effort from a developer. But they're usually my favorite games
I've watched some Excel Saga. It can be funny Everyone is allowed their own opinions about this stuff. When I put up my games list I know I'm going to have some games on there that'll make people How are you enjoying the Harvest Moon LP?
It really doesn't surprise me. I know I'm in the minority. I looked all over the internet for vindication but it was not to be had lol Everyone prefers the change. I just liked my old Chie. But I guess she wasn't an accurate representation of the character and I guess I should have never liked her to begin with if she was legitimately supposed to be so shrieky and annoying lol Watch a clip from an anime called Excel Saga. If you find a winner Excel can make your ears bleed from her spastic yelling. And that's sadly all I hear when Chie talks lol But I do appreciate you looking into it at least
You're going to hate me but I just listened to a voice comparison of the two Chie's and I like the new one better x)
Haha X)
Ha, I actually just poked my nose in that thread. Not sure how close it is to the original, but she looks really cute in your drawing. I'm attempting to struggle through the new voice in Persona 4 again right now lol Just got to spots where the dialog is less voiced, and they just use a random line, word, or phrase to express an emotion while you read the actual dialog. Totally just reminded me of how interactions go in Fire Emblem Awakening where people have conversations with each other in the barracks between battles. Much more tolerable lol
Yeah I know what you mean. Fire Emblem could have been so much better, but I still think its a great game. I won't spoil it, but expect to see it on my top 20 on my games list Also, just (tried to) draw Alice from Record of Agarest War Zero. Haven't drawn in months.
From what I understand of the matchmaking in Harvest Moon I think I'd be fine with it. It's more like a dating sim, than a generations thing. Either that or I'm missing something. Though honestly, upon reflection, I'd probably be fine with the match making in Fire Emblem as well, since it's just one generation, and like you said, it can be couples that actually look like they work, rather than some braindead pairing the writers just thought were cute or something. Especially since there's room for them to protect each other in battle and form bonds you can see in real time. Ugh I want to love that game so badly and just devour it. But I have trouble with any game that's just an endless succession of battles. I always rave about Shining Force, but it also has a couple of games in its franchise that are just battles and story, and I'm not entirely sure I could play through those anymore either lol
