  1. I could destroy a planet now.
  2. If anything it is more amusing how many people still do not get the story about Cloud in FFVII which leads to other misunderstandings of the game. The Huge Materia thing is not even comparable if you ask me. I could tell you stories that would fill your PM box in seconds.
  3. The thing is, I don't think it is a flaw. I do get your point, especially as other than the others you do - apparently - not actually think of it as a plothole. Still, it is a matter of preference. If you ask me those types of "how much of value x would you sacrifice" is something pseudo-philosophical, something tackled lately in the likes of Last of Us or Life is Strange where in my opinion the only ones who actually say "how dare they to choose that when THIS is the right choice!!!!" is the only really wrong thing because I think in such extreme situations there is no universally right choice and the really personal level is important. Going far enough to say "THIS is universally the right choice" is even more inhuman than the options themselves. And I think in case of FFVII they even choose somewhat wisely. The entire game is about life, cherishing it, how it can go on and suddenly stop. Throwing away such a valuable thing as Great Materia hurts on so many levels. It is insulting against the Cetra, it robs the Planet of its power, it is most likely completely without any effect anyway because Sephiroth's true power comes from his will and just as the guy in the thread said, Bugenhagen even pointed out, the Planet already had a severe problem of surviving that even without Sephiroth it would already have problems to survive. Granted, whenever FFVII-2 comes out they will probably ignore it or retcon it or explain it with new stuff why they brough them back but that is the talk of another day.
  4. Good I'm also not trying to jump on any anti-hype train or anything. I was just honestly surprised with the flaws I hadn't noticed. I still really enjoy though
  5. Oh believe me, FFVII is not perfect in the slightest. It is "just perfect for me". The narration could be better, yes. But I feel there are enough ways to properly understand Nojima-san's script. Like Nomura-san said "the answers are all in the game". People nowadays just love the anti-hype hype train.

And I love ALL FFs. XV as well.
  6. To be fair, there are a number of ways that that point could have been made better. I still like VII, though, make no mistake. I just feel that it's been put on a pedestal that makes it immune to the criticism that newer games in the series can't avoid despite either making similar mistakes (like making a poor narrative choice for a good story) or even not making them.

Still, I think you're one of the few people who aren't the least bit hypocritical in that since even though you love VII with its flaws, you still give a fair shot and similar evaluation of newer games In general, I think I'm just a bit sad that people crap on XV's story even though VII had far from a perfect story itself.
  7. Nicht nur du. Es gibt auch einen Thread voller Leute die es nicht verstehen, obwohl es das Konzept des gesamten Spiels ist.

Not just you. There is an entire thread full of people who do not realize it is the concept of the entire game.
  8. Nicht das ganze Forum. Nur Wolf Kanno und ich
  9. Nope. Never Just a lowly editor.
  10. Why is your name not highlighted? Weren't you a mod for a while?
