Yeah, I'm on here because of him. At first I was just responding to the writing prompts, and then I ventured into the other forums. I don't know FF as well as he does (or as well as most people here) but I have played a few and KH. He's gradually expanding the number that I've played since he owns them all.
Haha, besties to couple. That's sweet! So I reckon he was the one that introduce you to this site? And you happened to play final fantasy games too?
We worked together at the university. I knew of him for about eight months before we actually worked on a job together (he was in the US for a bit and then there was awhile before we were put on a marketing job at the same time). When we started talking it was nearly November, so we bonded over NaNoWriMo and hung out a few times. Then we kept hanging out. We were best mates for about a year before we started dating.
Now you've really intrigued me. How did the two of you first met!?
One of my published stories is actually about him. I wrote it before we were even dating, based on a memory he recollected for me once. He inspires me every day.
Oh mine!! Just for me? What an honour! I do hope the story will be based on you and Jiro. It is really good that you and your other half share a common interest and working towards a common goal. Do you think you will ever find inspiration out of Jiro? Like looking at him and pop comes an idea? I know of someone that writes articles based on inspiration from her partner. For some reason she likes to choose all those repulsive elements such as not flushing the toilet and what not.
Yeah, we help edit each others' work regularly. He's going to look over my novel, and I assume I'm going to be editing his Masters thesis when he's done. I'm not very good at writing love stories, but if I find time I will try just for you! I find inspiration in all sorts of things. I wrote an article on Monday for a magazine because a customer at work made me think of an idea. I find inspiration in films I watch and other books I read. Sometimes it's just a name or a first line that pops into my head. Often there is a prompt or theme for the place where I am submitting, so that makes it easier; I start there and brainstorm.
So usually the two of you will look and edit each other projects? You two sure makes good partners!! I hope you will write a love story about two writers soon enough. Of course I did and I hope your work will be a success!! Where do you get your inspirations usually?
I'm so glad I finally finished that sixth edit. Jiro's meant to be going through my most recent edit some time in the next few months and giving it his own tweaks before I start trying to get it published next year. He likes the ideas and whatnot, but he's only read the first draft (which is very different from how it looks now). I look forward to hearing his opinions once he gets through this reworked manuscript and see if he likes what I changed. I'm hope you liked the rest of the interview too!
I read your interview about "‘Elymas’" and I must say the idea and concept are pretty neat. I am really curious what would a girl achieve by following a magician and becoming his assistant. Sounds like great adventures ahead! But six edits? Boy, you sure put in a lot of efforts for your works! What do Jiro thinks of your novel?
