Just quietly observe and see if they learned what not to do from Lord of the Flies! Never had lychees. And yeah, pirate attacks are unlikely, but then again so is getting struck by lightning!
I was actually thinking exactly the same thing. I think this may be a test of my teachering skills. If I abandon them and go feral, they'll know not to hire me. Best of all; the place is famous for its lychees. My god, I love lychees. Best... fruit? in the world. I imagine that most boats that sail aren't attacked by pirates. If they are, the world is more awesome than I thought (lol kidnap and murder). I just really want to see the green flash some day.
Screw camping, I'd just build a crude fort and live off the land for the rest of my life! As long as there's only a slight chance of pirate attack, the cargo ship idea would be awesome. A friend of mine works on a cargo ship as a cook and goes damn near everywhere. Problem is that when the boat isn't sailing, it remains docked in Alaska.
smurfing hell. Google Hainan. That's where I will, hopefully, be going camping. smurfing hell.
Is it hell! I'd blooding love to take a cargo ship to China! I actually intend to go on a long haul cargo ship one day; spend a month or more out at sea. It's expensive, though, so I'd have to save for it. Maybe that's how I'll return to France? Just got an email from the school. I'll be arriving at the start of the Spring Festival, a two week holiday. A two week paid holiday. And the school is going on a camping trip to a tropical island during which I can do my training and meet everyone in pretty much the perfect setting. Why yes, I did just die and enter Paradise.
At least you get to fly...maybe. Better than land or sea travel at least.
We could always do that, I guess... Hah, tell me about it. I'm gonna have a brutal time just getting to China.
Or just compromise and meet halfway somewhere new. Still though, ugh. Have fun not being able to sleep while sitting up!
The buses in China are apparently famous for their horribleness, so I might make Keith do all the travelling, hehe.
So jealous! Not of the twenty hour bus ride though; been there!
