With this annual feeling of damnation I have been susceptible to the charms of rum and bourbon, so my wishes are most likely less than sincere, and more of a way to slither my way into your pants, but merry christmas, Salde. Slade. I¥m not happy with that punctuation, but hell, it’s the holidays! Hmm. I can’t help but feel there is a lack of substance there. You see, Slade, I really do want you to have a good time at christmas. But does saying Merry Christmas really satisfy that? I feel it is lacking. I see people sometimes... throwing around these holiday wishes to everyone and anyone. Wouldn’t you think that lessened their value? The other day, someone wished me a Merry Christmas. I don’t know. Some idiot standing around in St. Lukes. I confronted her with some tough questions. Turns out she couldn’t really care less about whether or not I had a good christmas, she just thought that was the right thing to say and wanted me to move on. Of course I felt I was being a pain, so I moved on. But it got me thinking. Should I really just wish merry christmas to everyone, and then feel like I am ripping off my friends when I say it to them? Or should I stop caring about the rest of the world, and just save my wishes for those I care about? Of course, I run the risk of starting to believe my own words are some kind of rare and valuable substance... and I don’t want to be that guy. You know what? Maybe I am just thinking about it too much. Merry Christmas.
I hear you don't like Christmas much. It definatly loses it's effect over the years but I still look forward to it. Not enough to lose sleep over on Christmas eve, though Anyhow, Merry Christmas dude.
