  1. Fund place things...you mean like scholarships? I hope I get a scholarship for something, anything, because any money could help. I could also apply for H.U. Lee Scholarship fund for taekwondo but even then it's only $3000. That'll buy you what, some textbooks and that's it? I say we skip college altogether and just educate ourselves by using the internet, it's more efficient and faster that way. And we can teach ourselves whatever we want to.
  2. EXACTLY. It's like it's set up so you can only do this much better than your parents, and your kids can only do this much better than you. That is balls, and anyone with the talent and drive to succeed should be able to. Hopefully some of those fund places things (I forget what they're called) throw lots of money at you because you deserve to get where you wanna be!
  3. But at least your education system makes a bit more sense. How can an 18-year-old fresh out of high school and getting paid minimum wage pay for college? Well, aside from loans, I mean. But I'm scared because I want to go to this expensive university and I have no idea how I'm gonna pay for it yet. x)
  4. Well as it happens I probably won't be 18 by the time the election comes around so I won't even get to vote

Your education system is balls. You have to pay way too much money and it's basically all upfront, or loans with ridiculous interest rates (as far as I am aware). We don't have to pay a cent until we start earning at least 30 odd thousand a year. And even then it's only marginal, and it doesn't generate interest. But we still pay an insane amount of cash D:
  5. That sucks as far as the election goes! Do you have an option on your ballot for a write in? Then you don't have to vote for an idiot or a backstabber! >
Oh, and I never realized how expensive college was, eek! I guess I have to get a (paying) job soon, oh joy.
  6. Things for me are going well. I'm doing well at uni, just waiting for my results to be released so I can confirm that though I'm earning a bit of money slowly, my bank account just passed $500 the other day. That has to go straight on fees/books when my next semester starts though D: I'm also back training! I tore my hamstring so I was out for a while but now I'm back

Australia itself seems to be in a spot of bother though. There's an election coming up and the two party leaders are an idiot or a backstabber. Not great choices to be honest!
  7. Ahhh, I'm still not so sure. My instructor says she wants me to compete as a second degree all season, but what if I don't pass my second degree test the first time? Or even my test to test for second degree (yeah, there is such rank, it's called second degree recommended, they just love to make things harder :P)? Then I'd have wasted time competing in a division I might not get to be in until even later! So I think perhaps I'll just stick with first degree for now and see where I can go from there. :/
But enough about me. How's life down under? You know, I always wanted to go to Australia! Too bad it's so far away.
  8. Hopefully I can catch you on MSN at one point, but until then I guess we continue chatting as normal! Have you decided what you're going to do with the whole grading/tournament problem?
  9. Do it. It's so...addictive! And still stuck in my head 12 hours later! DDD
