  1. Oh yeah, I do agree it’s a much better game and I like it far more than Wind Waker - and the slow battles never bothered me either. I just mentioned it’s similar because I feel both are a bit unjustly revered nowadays.
  2. I'm willing to give IX a bit more clout than WW. WW has some major fun killing flaws built into it, but IX has smaller nagging issues that don't necessarily drag the whole experience down unless you have a low tolerance for it. I know people bitch and moan about how slow the battle system is, but after a few battles, I've stopped noticing it.

I feel for me, in terms of design. IX is a fairly good FF by the series standards. Whereas I feel that WW is a good Zelda game, but has too many nagging issues for me to put it on the same scales as my favorites. I do feel I need to give WW another playthrough though. I had to practically speed run my first playthrough because I borrowed it, but now that I have my own copy, I feel a slower and more relaxing second playthrough is in order.
  3. lol that’s great. In general I’m happy people are actually getting involved in this marathon I fully expected this to be just me in the end.

As for IX, I’ve come to the conclusion that I feel about it similarly to how I feel about the Wind Waker. I do very much like it, but I can’t help but feel the fan base has kind of praised it too high. Like WW it used to be a black sheep but now seems to be revered by everyone and hardly anyone has anything bad to say about it, despite the game having its share of flaws.
  4. When you slip into FFII, I may jump back into an old file I never finished. I'll likely finishing grinding all the spell levels while you go through it.
  5. Yay
  6. Well your marathon pushed me to finally do a replay of IX that I've been debating about since my Top 100 list. Though part of me hopes to get back into FFV soon for my Let's Play.
  7. Yes because they didn't change the weapons algorithm. As long as it hits, it will drain 1/16th of their health. Just make sure whoever uses it has a secondary weapon with high accuracy. You should also bring the Ancient Sword into the battle because it's possible to land curse on the boss with it. That will make it much easier for you. That goes for both versions of his final form.
  8. Is it also vulnerable to the Blood Sword?
  9. His Heaven incarnation has an extra 10,000hp compared to his hell form.
  10. Hmm. I know but then again, I do want the Blood Sword on Firion at the end. Tough choice.
