I can't remember her name now but there was this woman who used to do the same thing with jewellery stores. She'd go in, insist that her boyfriend/husband etc had ordered some diamond jewellery for her, and just walk off with a bunch. Rinse and repeat a few months later with a different store. No one ever questioned her because she just looked like she belonged there.
I've got an immense respect for the gentleman who robbed many banks over a long time. Dress like an average looking person going to the bank, hand over letter demanding $3-5k from the till, leave, repeat elsewhere after a while. Bank regs prevent any fuss, because it's such a small amount. Police don't bother chasing, because it's such a small amount. Just make sure you go to many banks in many places. It's great!
