There's a reason I went, "..................huh." in the thread with the trailer. The first two were an interesting "remix" of Star Trek with some classic action. There's nothing wrong with the idea on the surface, but moving further and further away from certain themes makes the films inherently Un-Star Trek. It doesn't mean they can't still be entertaining, but there's a difference.
