I think the last thing I seriously devoured was several short stories by Lovecraft, but the last real novels I got into were the Death Gate Cylce back in High School. I do short stories more often, which is probably why Poe is one of my favorite authors.
Yeah, I can relate. It wasn't until I read the Harry Potter books that I ever really finished a book (including my school required reading :O). And honestly, it wasn't until the third book that I really started to enjoy it
I have enough to read, it's just sticking with it that can be a problem.
(Aside from my SMT fanfic, that is )
Well, hope you can get hooked on something I myself feel that I don't read enough. I read loads more than I used to, but it still took s lot of work getting there. Some books I just devoir in s few bites, while others take me forever. It really all depends on the book. Let me know if you want any entry drug-like recommendations.
I understand that, which is why I try to force myself to read fiction, but it rarely sticks. I have too many unfinished books.
I'm kidding Reading is really more valuable to writers in terms of the how rather than the what. Sure, you can grasp how to construct a good story by reading a synopsis. But there's no real good way of picking up means of making stuff actually read in a compelling way other than seeing it in action
I'll read your stuff, I'm just saying I'm not the type to pick up a book looking for story. I'm simply more information driven.
Sigh
Probably
