Apparently. I have no issue with women who want to be that type of woman, but the key word is WANT. Not every woman should be pigeonholed like that. If she's a doctor she's doin pretty well for herself she doesn't NEED to know how to cook

Yeah, I'm with you. I'm watching Space Brothers now and it's mostly great but suddenly there's this cool Michelle Rodriguez-looking lady and she's all tough and junk, but can't cook! Ha ha. Ha. And it's a show about adults, for adults
It's just everywhere. It's like, can't cook shouldn't be a defining characteristic all the time. Unless it's a show about chefs or something. They're never like "Rodney is a scientist but he can't build a shed" because it has nothing to do with anything I've just been noticing it more and more and it gets WAY too big of a focus

I've noticed the cooking things comes up a lot in Japanese media. Like even where it doesn't pertain to anything. "Lady is a prestigious doctor but it seems she can't cook." WHAT DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH ANYTHING
