Conversation Between Fynn and Wolf Kanno

  1. Yep, so that is something P5 has in common with the Witcher as a whole as well. It's fantasy, but its main goal is really exposing the ugliness of society. As the protagonist was pretty much engineered to fight monsters, the entire theme of the franchise is what makes a monster. Of course, it very often turns out that the worst monsters in general are in fact humans.

Really can't wait for P5. I love it when games that market themselves as mature actually are that for real. Witcher 3 is doing that for me now, and it looks like P5 really does that as well. Can't wait!
  2. Yeah, there are some messed up things going on in this game, and the first major arc is probably one of the "oh trout, we're actually going there aren't we?" moments. There is a domestic violence mission as well, but probably not as graphic as the Witcher 3 one from what you're implying. Still the game focuses on bullying, gossip, sexual abuse, corruption of authority, blackmail, and murder. It's certainly tied with P2 Duology as the darkest entry in the series so far in terms of actually bringing up and talking about more mature subjects. The game really feels like a good social commentary about the current state of our world even.

The central theme of the game is social reform, and it's probably the best example of capturing the BS that is the modern media/social network element of society as well. There is a minor mechanic in the game that actually keeps track of how much your group is trending in social media and also serves as your groups approval rating. While P3 and P4 touched on the public opinion element affecting society, it's a central focus of P5 and you will learn to hate people really quickly in this game because of it. The Fall and Fog were nice allegories for their games themes, but P5 has gone back to the series roots in P2 to basically showcase how messed up society is and make it a more tangible concept.
  3. It goes into a lot of dark places. In keeping with the sourit of the books of course. So far the Witcher 3 really feels like it embodies the spirit of the novekscthe best and it's really glorious.

But you mentioned P5 doesn't hold itself back either, huh?
  4. Well at least the game has the balls to go there.
  5. Nah. It's part of that domestic abuse questline
  6. So Gygas?
  7. Meanwhile, I'm dealing with a vengeful zombie fetus. As stupid as that sounds, it's actually really dark and sad
  8. The themes just have tough competition.

Yeah, I'm pretty much at the Wham Episode, but probably before the real supernatural threat makes itself known part, which is typical, because P3and P4 did this around late October, early November as well.
  9. Eh, I liked the opening song at

And yay for lost months. Wham episode?
  10. I was watching a compilation video of all of the Persona openings and about the time Dancing All Night came to be, I decided P4 hit rock bottom. Also, I forgot how awful the opening songs for P3P, P4G, and the P4Arena games were.

Also, HOLY smurf I JUST LOST OCTOBER AND IT WAS AMAZING!
