You could just let it go and not organize them
Man, I'm still having issues trying to organize my list for my top games. Especially now that I figure I'm going to have to add P5 to it.
I liked the actress one of the Sun Arcana, but my love of the Sun Arcana is more about how gut wrenching they are than the people themselves. Even the guy from P3 could be hard to like hen he got super "oh woe is me" about everything. I'm like "dude, shut it, or I'm going to James Sutherland your ass". Though Toro, is surprisingly likable. I love Death, because she's a cute alternative chick (my type) wears a variation of Ulala's dress from P2, and her social link is pretty much like dealing with Washu from Tenchi Muyo! I'll give the game props for the Devil Arcana, she's absolutely shameless like Tanaka but I imagine it will end up like the nurse social link, just less jarring. I feel the thing that most people will crucify me for is the fact that P5's Emperor Arcana is my favorite in the series, yes, he beat Kanji for me but his social link has been pure gold. I feel my like for P5's social link is that it drops the pretense of gritty realism that P4 was going for and brings back the idea of the social links being wacky and comically dark in nature. None of this is helped by the presentation of them, the P5 protagonist may be one of the most calculating and sociopathic MC in the series.
Well that sounds great! Can't wait to experience them for myself! And yay for drag queen bars XD It's funny how you mention the Sun Arcana as while I'll agree that it was great in P3, I kinda hated it in P4? Both of them, really. No matter which one you chose, they just both felt super annoying to me. And you know, the moment I saw the Death confidant in the trailers, I thought "I have a feeling Wolf Kanno might like this person" and I was right, even though that was just a dumb hunch And yeah, the Witcher 3 has plenty of design choices that are just so brilliant. Of course, it has its share of flaws, but the level of detail and polish this game has is astounding. Not to mention the locales look even more Polish than in the first game (and especially the second, which looked way more generic, sadly) and I just can't get enough of this countryside and weather.
That's good to hear, I wish more developers *cough*Squenix*cough* would do that. So I just need four more Confidants unlocked, and barring how weird three of them are in the game proper, I think it's almost safe to say that P5 may have the best collection of social links/confidants in the series thus far. While there are certainly some stand out ones from previous entries, like the fact that no one is going to beat Tanaka as the best Devil Arcana or Nanako for Justice Arcana; P5 has yet to give me a Confidant I've felt blah about. In fact, I like certain characters better in their social link story than the main story proper. P5 certainly has my favorite incarnations of the Death and Temperance Arcana. I need to focus more on the Sun arcana as well since they are traditionally the most screwed up ones, yet it's kind of tame at the moment compared to the previous ones. I'm also happy cause I found out I can work part time at Lala Escargot the Drag Queen's bar.
One thing I really love about the Witcher 3 is the sidequests. None of the sidequests so far has been a throwaway thing - they're all fully voiced and directed, and with each you can actually feel that this is something that has consequences for the town and it feels like you're actually helping then. All questgivers feel like they're actually people - they talk to you a lot and you get a sense of who they are as a person organically rather than the typical Bioware tactic of "now let me tell you of my dark and troubled past, stranger"
Yeah, barring the mind blowing nature of P3 when it first came out, I'm feeling like Persona 5 may haven beaten it as my favorite in the series. It feels like a perfect marriage between Persona 2 and the newer entries.
Probably gonna have to make a new one myself once I play all the things I want to play, as I expect P5 and FFXV to be at least in my top 100, if not top 25. P5 will probably make top 5 easily. And it looks like the Witcher 3 has already beaten Xenoblade. Never imagined this would happen. Something reallly bad would have to happen to prevent that, really.
Yeah, I'm holding off on writing up a list right now because I'm pretty sure P5 is going to make it onto it.
Honestly, though, like 75% of the emotional investment comes from me loving the books and this game being even more of a continuatikn
