Conversation Between Fynn and Wolf Kanno

  1. I began to see my weaknesses concerning dialogue when I started writing a comedy script that 90% of the humor comes from the witty dialogue (my general type of humor) and found that I never felt it sounded right. Going back to older stories I've written, I feel my writing is very wooden. I'm definitely more story focus than character focus so a lot of my character dialogue only seems to serve the purpose of moving the story along rather than making the characters feel like part of it.
  2. I also have Louis Cyphre planned into the story. Of course, it's a completely different take on the character, one that I think might be controversial for fans, but I think it fits what I need him to be
  3. I used to feel I did good dialogue, but now I kinda cringe looking back. It's really hard to get right. Though I think everything around dialog is even worse in that regard
  4. It does make you appreciate good dialogue when you actually do see it.
  5. I guess that's why we do multiple drafts
  6. I always second guess myself with dialogue. I often feel it's too dry and stilted, but when I liven it up, it feels kind of fake and like I'm trying too hard to make it interesting.
  7. Slowly, but it's kinda coming a long. I'm a bit frustrated that I keep fixating on the little details. Like, I know the zodiac signs of the brothers, but the dialog is still wonky
  8. I'm just happy to be done with it. I have a bad feeling that I'll have a similar feeling concerning 4 Heroes of Light when I get back to it because it falls into some odd middle ground of being really good about some things and absolutely frustrating in others.

    How is your writing going?
  9. Yeah this game's story was frustrating
  10. The bad guy tells them to given in to despair because loneliness is the real monster and Vaan is saved when everyone shows up to beat up the bad guy. He then thanks the party for saving him and flies away. Vaan makes some weird speech about how "hope is in the sky". The island falls apart and the party says their goodbyes but not before Penelo casts a spell that makes the core cast dance and then you get a few stills of what everyone is doing after the game is over. I didn't unlock the extra scene but I believe it just features an extra scene of Vaan and Penelo getting another airship to continue their sky pirate days.

Now I'm going to try to finish Phoenix Wright.
