I am utterly confused.
I am here to make sure that the reports that you like cheeseburgers are indeed true.
XIII just offends my sensibilities. I would probably be more fair to the game if the design team just admitted that they screwed up, and built a half-finished concept due to deadlines; instead of pretending all of it's lack of features are somehow artistic design, then compare it to a genre that fans have bemoaning for being creatively bankrupt for more than a decade.
I mean, I get that (although I still think I cut XIII more slack than you do when discussing it )
It's the internet, hyperbole is the rule. Even my own negative feedback on XIII is pretty hyperbolic, though it's usually for the sake of humor, but I'm sure many people don't see it that way.
I agree. Especially considering how much more positive user reviews there are on metacritic are right now. And how much the game has sold already. I think it may actually do better within the fanbase than XII in that regard. It's just that the negative feedback there is INSANELY brutal. But I guess we just live in times where every opinion has to be extreme for some reason.
XV was doomed to be hated the second Versus XIII got transformed into it. It was inevitable that it was going to share the fate of Versus XIII which itself would have most likely fallen very short of the high expectations of the fans. At best, I see it pulling an FFXII where it gets lots of hate in the beginning but then people mellow out over it after the initial shock is done with. Most haters of XII liked it better the second time around and I get the feeling XV may do so as well, the issue at hand is that the long development history this game had will always be a dark stain on it.
