XV is holding onto some characters and concepts from Versus XIII but overall it has been rewritten and redone by Tabata. Stella being written out and re-imagined as Lunafreya, one of the early trailers has been confirmed to no longer be part of the story, and some of the game mechanics experimented with and shown in early trailers have been confirmed to be removed. It's no longer the game Nomura promised back in 2006, instead it's the game Tabata salvaged from what was actually done. I don't blame Tabata or anything, and I still have decent hopes for the game being pretty good but it's not a true Tabata title, and it still holds the stigma of being that game announced ten years ago, so it has a lot of things going against among the fan community. I almost feel the VII Remake was announced because SE kind of knew this and don't have much faith in the title doing as well as previous installments.
How was versus XIII a failed dream? Not arguing, I'm just curious because I'm not up on all of my news. I thought they just decided to change it to XV I'm kind of weirdly excited for XVI too even though we know nothing about it xD

I have a list system, I just need to be better at following it. As I said, I get a little too distracted and I feel sometimes I make concessions for the list when I need to be more disciplined. I'm getting back into my mood where I buckle down and be better at following my guidelines.
