Aw man, that is so good! That's bound to help!
Yep, going to try and stay motivated. I have a coworker also doing this so I'm hoping we'll keep each other on track.
Here's hoping, then! I'm around 400 words in now, hope to reach that ~1650 goal today, so wish me luck! And look, we have a NaNo subforum now!
I'm starting a new project just to get it off the ground and take a break from my old things. Course I don't think my story will need to hit the 50k milestone to be finished so that kind of takes some of the pressure off of me. I'm hoping that working on something new will inspire me to go back to older projects.
Ugh, sorry for not replying earlier. Needed to take that day off from everything, and it was a holiday here, and my wife got sick, so you know. Needed to rest from stuff And yay, that sounds great! So far, if what you're saying ends up applying to the entirety of the game, it may actually end up fulfilling my expectations, so hurray! Also, NaNo starts today for me and I am excited! Though I'm gonna do it differently. Of course, the aim is 50k words, and I will do that, but instead of writing a new project, I'm going to use that to write my old book thing, hoping to get it moving. And if I ever feel that I'm in the zone on a particular day, I'll just write more on that day, and still do that ~1650 on the other, because hey, that way I'll have more book out of the way!
I definitely prefer the Type-0 demo over the changes made in the Platinum Demo. It's more streamlined in terms of combat even without access to magic. I think you'll be pretty please, the game feels like FFXII with a little bit (not too much) of Xenoblade mixed in, though that's mostly in terms of the streamlined missions system. The demo has you doing a Mark Hunt but it's really cool and cinematic with you having to do a few things extra like discovering clues and then having to use some minor stealth to follow it back to the lair. There is also some plan set up to beat it or at least get a big edge on it but I kept screwing up and having to Ramuh his sorry ass cause the beast has a crap ton of health. Also summons are back to being overpowered super attacks and I'm a bit curious to see how they're going to work out in the main game cause they seem a bit OP at the moment. I can honestly say that I feel the main cast was nailed perfectly in terms of their characterizations and party dynamics. The rest of the cast and story might end up being terrible when we finally get the full game, but I'm pretty sure most people will agree that the camaraderie of the main four was executed well. The "random" encounters on the other hand can be a bit daunting, especially if you're trying to undertake a different mission. I was doing a Party Tour mission where Noctis teams up with only one character in the party to do a bonding mission. On my way to said mission I got notified of a new mission we could undertake on our way that involved eliminating some excess Garula Herds which was a bit challenging with just the two of us, but still doable. Up until the Imperial forces kept showing up and dropping off whole units of Magitek Knights on top of us making the fight a two against 20-30 which quickly got out of hand. Night time is also scary cause you face more powerful creatures and they can spawn almost everywhere. I spent one whole evening fighting an army of Goblins because I guess my party just happened to enter their spawn zone and a new group would spawn before I killed off the last group so running is advised sometimes. I also like the concept of XP not being applied until you actually camp. It's a neat concept and actually forces you to slow down instead of endlessly grinding. I'm still debating if I like the meal mechanic.
And how is it?
I've been meaning to replay FFTA again. I started awhile back but kind of lost interest along the way in that playthrough. I need to get back to my FFVII playthrough but I ended up getting a copy of Type-0 which still had a working code for the XV demo so that's what I've been playing lately.
Yeah, I know. My wife played this game relatively recently and she also maxed those two classes, and whenever she needs help with games I've already beaten, I look up guides so she can avoid spoilers I also want to get those jobs ASAP. It's also cool that they're pretty much set when you get to them, as the Blue Mage will get either Black or White magic as a secondary skill set, while the morpher will get control
Be careful with the Morpher then. I know that there are two monsters that go "extinct" in the story, by which I mean it's impossible to encounter them after a certain point in the story. Both of them also have Blue Magic spells. I believe it was the Goblin and Elec Drake.
