That eyeball fella. Yeah I thought about trying to level there but I figured I'd just hurry onwards. Oh well. Next time!
One of the bosses in the ice cavern was great for leveling up, the one-eyed thing. It may not be the same in the GBA version but in mine if you stepped back on the square where the boss was he would reappear. The order I did was earth, ice, fire, then wind.
I'm wondering if there is a different method to make things easier. Like, if I did the fire cave first and levelled up a great deal through that, then I might end up powering through Earth Cavern because of over levelling. I don't know, it's something to think about for next time
I had the option between easy and normal mode as well, not that I remember which one I picked xD. So long as no one has the NES version, since there aren't any addition cut scenes or additional effects to magic which would cut their time down a lot, our time is going to be tough to beat. I thought for sure you were going to beat mine when you posted your time at the Earth dungeon, then again I did that one last. Also, hate hate hate hate HATE Cockatrices. Always in huge numbers and all they had to do was hit you to cause petrify.
I was playing the GBA Dawn of Souls version. As Mirage said, it is referred to as "Easy Mode" but there are enough differences to put us on about equal pegging. For instance, all the bosses have more health xD I also had to sit through 4 extra little cutscenes which added at least 1 minute to my time. Not a big deal, but when it was as close as we got it...! There were so many of those enemies that could hit the full party and they'd just go all at once and wipe me out completely. HATED them
Yeah! What version were you using? Your characters had higher levels than mine by about 15 as well :S. Except against the smurfing ice dragons. Equipping ribbon helped, I found.
