I did think that would be an effective strategy. Don't want anyone to be obsolete but it seems to me like things are pretty smurfing chilled around here. I like it.
Sarah's somewhere up there now in the bot contest. To be honest ever since restricting certain email providers from signing up we haven't had many bots. Which is good.
Banning bots is a good skill to have! Are they still keeping a tally of who has the most? I think Psychotic was running away with it for a while there
Bahaha. Yeah I get the feeling there's a lot of stuff in there that I don't quiiiiiiite understand yet. At least I know how to ban bots, right?
Yeah, that thing was basically a maze to me. I knew how to do like three things and I didn't click any other buttons for fear of like, unbanning every member or deleting the forum, even though that power was clearly not within my capabilities.
I didn't know how to do it for a long time. I guess it's in the mod panel. xD
I think that's a good plan. Announcements seem to have been underused in the past. Speaking of, is there like, an idiot's guide to writing those? Because I could never figure out what other buttons I had to use or if I should have them expire or what. Nobody told me what to do they were just like "yeah sure make an announcement whatever" xD
We're going to try to do more announcements and that sort of thing. Hopefully it helps
feedback only tends to come from the disenchanted (me etc) and that's not very beneficial as there is a clear agenda. The general memberbase does have opinions, they're just too apathetic towards it. I'm really glad that you guys are being proactive in soliciting information from everyone, even if half the staff disagree with the idea xD But yeah, the compromise is hilarious and entirely unexpected, but as it stands I think it's a good way to test the impact of different changes and see what the ultimate course of action will be
Half the staff wanted no change in the forum order, half the staff wanted EVERYTHING in subforums, we compromised and now no one is happy. xD The transparency thing is a good start I agree. We are always looking for more member feedback but sometimes it's actually difficult to get it!
