I'm capable of belief I choose not to I don't go picking fights with religious people over their faith I think it is good to have some faith in something. Personally my faith is in myself I only have myself to rely on and if I mess up it's down to me pretty depressing and very jaded but I don't like the idea of being some "toy" of the gods like the ancient greeks and romans tended to believe and nor do I like the idea of not having any responsibility for my fate because it's "god's plan" like christians do. I willingly admit the first god who comes up to me and trout slaps me irl with a trout that literally appears from nowhere with no one within 3km of us or any rivers to give access to a trout will have my full and utter faith in them.
I know exactly what you mean. Everything you just said makes perfect sense, and I can't stand the airheads who are like "I'm a christian, durr, because God loves me, and I dun wanna go to hell." And you ask them, how do you know that God is real? And they reply, "Because he just is." It makes me mad, because no one wants to even think about it, you know? Like, the possibilities of him existing, or not existing. Currently, I am an agnostic. I won't go around bashing on people for being Christian or religious, but dammit, if you're going to try to convert me, you'd better do it damn good and well. I'm going to need some serious, material proof. Not some idea floating around in your head, or words from a silly book like the bible. /:
well put this way: God is all forgiving and thus forgives us for our sins. This means no one goes to hell, everyone goes to heaven. If a christian then says "but you have to ask for it!" in regards to forgiveness then he isn't all forgiving then is he? So therefore if God is as the bible states "all forgiving" then there is no need to ask for his forgiveness to gain it thus there is no one going to hell. On that note: God is all powerful. Therefore if God is all powerful he would simply have defeated the devil and thus destroyed him for Lucifer was his creation not his co-creator. Therefore God is either 1 of 2 things: Neither all powerful & all forgiving OR God is a complete lie thus making Christianity and any other religion based on it (including Islamic beliefs) a lie too. Bah theres too much religion in the world. all it does is incite wars and hate anyhow ironically all main religions of the world preach peace and love and goodwill to all mankind.
