  1. At this point I'm just glad he's feeling better and working on it.
  2. That's awesome, it's always great to get things on super discount. I've lucked out myself and my financial situation has improved, so I may be picking up a PS4 this week.

I'm happy to hear Anno has finished Godzilla and moving back to the last Eva film, let's hope it doesn't take another decade to come out.
  3. By the way, I got that Witcher bundle I mentioned earlier today. Aside from the gift card, I actually got an additional discount, which made the final price amount to 20 zl. That's about 5 bucks. For three full games (four if you count the board game).
  4. Yeah, it does sound like you're pretty close to the end! Keep it up!

Also, good to see Jack again! It's that time of year, I guess.

Btw, I read Anno is actually back to making the last Evangelion movie. Can't wait!
  5. I'm still debating on going that route. I might not bother with amnesia since I'm already trying to finish up SMT. Tokyo is flooded and I'm getting ready to undertake the mission involving Vishnu and Ravana. I collected Masakado's sword and still need to pick up the armor pieces but I'm pretty close to finishing up this bad boy.
  6. Oh, yeah, I heard about Fatal Frame and need to try it someday! That is a cool choice to go with!

And yeah, while I think playing in order is always cool, Silent Hill 4 might just be what you're looking for. On the one hand, it's a bit lighter what with the goofy protagonist (whom I love), but then there's the whole room thing where you think there's this safe space you can always return to... until stuff happens and trout gets really creepy.

Plus, limited inventory is a thing here. Another added layer of tension.
  7. I know it will be very difficult to recreate that feeling as SH2. I;'ve played a little of SH3 and I agree it's a bit more in-your-face than SH2 was, hell my biggest gripe with it back then was that the game suddenly got more combat focused in a franchise well known for having bad combat mechanics.

On the other hand, Fatal Frame is a very eerie game in it's own right, especially since so much of it is the audio than the visuals. I'm debating between three entries right now.
  8. Thanks for the recommendation! I'll check them out later.

As for Halloween gaming, like I said in the thread, you can't really go wrong with Silent Hill. Parasite Eve was, to me personally, not scary in the slightest. It's kind of more like an episode of the X-Files, and not a particularly dark one really, than an actual horror movie. There's some squick, but not really much. I think the Vagrant Story-like battle system might actually be a cause for that, though.

Still, you basically have a whole month! And horror games usually aren't that long, so you might as well beat more of them
  9. Oh I finished DDS 1 tonight. Actually found some of the bosses leading p to the final boss to be tougher than her. Halloween gaming starts tomorrow.

Also, I discovered this cool composer on Youtube that does melancholic renditions of classic video game themes, mainly Final Fantasy and Chrono Trigger.
  10. It's just about staying consistent, like Pike said in the thread.
