  1. Man, I need to finally GET 4 Heroes of Light. I've already found it - there's this little online store here that imports stuff from the US and they have it. I just don't really have the means to buy it yet. Perhaps for Christmas.
  2. I had n earlier save to use. I'm playing the game on emulator. I also found my old PS2 save so I can get back to Raido but I just passed where I was on DDS, so I'll stick to that. I need to get back to 4 Heroes of Light as well.
  3. Wow! So wait, did you restart the game or did you have some earlier file that wasn't corrupted?
  4. Yeah, I figured it was a glitch as well, opted to restart and lose my evening grind of macca over four levels. Especially since I think the glitch screwed up my ability to gain levels as well, not to mention I permanently lost a demon in the whole debacle. I'll just need to be careful.
  5. That is very weird! Figure it's a glitch because I never encountered that in the iOS version!
  6. It hasn't been so bad except I seem to have lost some levels... I am pretty sure the hero was 37 and heroine was 36 on the save file and suddenly they are 33 and 34. Not sure if this is a side effect from letting a demon die or the game glitching out on me when I tried to revive one of my dead demons but I may be cutting my losses cause I'd rather keep the levels. What's weird is that my HP/MP didn't change, but the Cathedral won't let me summon certain demons I had before due to the level difference.
  7. Yeah, I remember the majority of the game being farming money. That was actually one of the biggest reasons the iOS port was such a good idea. Grinding during a commute just happens so fast.
  8. I'm looking forward to getting around to part 2. Guns are only useful when the enemy surprises you and you have to fight as humans. Technically the game just hands you overpowered ammo but I have one guy seriously lacking and it shows when those type of battles come.

Right now I'm back to SMT1 and learned the hard way that I'm both underleveled and underequipped to handle the new areas. I just finished Roppngi (Alice and her minions) and had the chance to go to Ginza or deal with the police station robots. I wasn't doing too bad with the police robots but blew through my Heriones SP really quickly since everything is weak to Zio in there but I had no backup to help and got ambushed pretty badly. Ginza has some new gear but completely out of my price range for the moment, so I'm back in Shinjuku, farming Yen and Magnetite to afford some new gear.
  9. Oh cool, thanks! I'll bring it up in staff since I have to study now and probably won't be able to cover it this weekend.

I'm pretty sure you don't even have to switch around party members if you don't want to in DDS 1 because they're all pretty much with you all the time, so you can just focus on your regular four, I think. I personally switched them around a lot and had no trouble, but you could be even stronger than that with a more focused approach, I think. Also, I really don't think I ever used the guns that much, so I think this game is manageable even if you don't upgrade your bullets regularly

But I am glad you're enjoying it! It certainly has one of the best MegaTen stories, IMO, especially as a complete duology. I also like that your decisions in this game matter in the second. The dungeons are really fun and I love the music. The main battle music sadly isn't that gripping, sadly. It does get an awesome boss remix in the sequel, though. I've noticed that DDS1 definitely has the better dungeon themes while DDS2 has the better battle themes. They complement each other nicely.
  10. You should get one of the editors to do an article on this.
