It showcases an element of the optional side game, not the plot. Basically it's a media res type of deal with the party established, but deals with side ops the party undertakes and gives you a better idea of what they are doing in this story. Also, I love the MC for this cause he's probably more of a lovable asshole than either P3 or P4's MCs were.
Is it spoilery, though? I'm kinda tired that both this and FFXV are getting anime tie-ins even BEFORE a game's release. I get the feeling that P5 is gonna be an even bigger cash cow than P4.
It's pretty cool, and I'm even more excited for P5 now.
