Conversation Between Fynn and Pumpkin

  1. I kinda wanted to check out the gay option for the guy (especially since he's a halforc AND YOU KNOW I LOVE THOSE TINY SONS OF MINE), but I'm worried that he's evil. The problem with evil characters is that they leave your party if your reputation is too high, and if you have them in your party along with good characters, they'll actually fight each other and your whole party falls apart. Now, I could theoretically play neutral or maybe even evil this time, but Western RPGs are usually pretty barebones when it comes to the morality systems, and if I try to behave like a decent person I'm automatically apparently a perfect person with maximum reputation. You have to be kind of a dick to keep that reputation low. I miss the gray morality system from Tactics Ogre or the MegaTen series
  2. That's awesome that they're taking some steps forward like that
  3. I'm sure it will.

Apparently they added new characters and they're all romanceable. Which is a huge thing, to be honest. In the original BG2 you only had three female romance options if you played as a guy (and they were all elves) and only one guy option when you played a girl (and he was a tremendous douche that I really could not stand and kicked him out of the party because he was so obnoxious, even despite the fact he had some of the best stats in the game), and they could only be romanced if you played one of the tall, pretty races (humans, elves and half-elves), so no love for you if you're a gnome, dwarf, hobbit or halforc (WHICH IS TERRIBLE BECAUSE I HAVE THIS ADORKABLE HALFORC CHARACTER FOR MY OWN RPG STORY AND HE MADE ME LOVE THE RACE SOOOO MUCH!!!). And now they added one more female character that is romanceable when playing a guy (she's an elf again, but whatever), one human guy to be romanced by a girl, a human/vampire girl who pursues a romantic relations only with girls and a halforc who is bisexual. So it's awesome we're finally getting gay options, but then again, both of the queer characters are evil-aligned, so that's kind of an unfortunate implication? But thank goodness, these are all romanceable by all races, from what I gathered.
  4. Glad you're enjoying your game. Hopefully Baldur's Gate goes well too
  5. I'm still abiding by my rule of playing only one game at a time, though I did have to switch a bit to FFX-2 while on the train, since Ania was playing Ghost Trick on the 3DS. I'm playing Persona Q right now and it's hella enjoyable, but also not quite as deep and stuff as the games it crosses over. It's a mesh of the P3 and P4 characters, and it's about as fanficky as you'd expect, but the dungeon exploring mechanics are incredibly fun. I'm also itching to play the Baldur's Gate game that I bought, but I can't afford to pour anymore time in my games right now, or I'll just flat out not defend my MA thesis.
  6. Was out of town for a week, so still playing XII with the sharkson.

I played Atelier Shallie and loved it and now I'm playing Atelier Ayesha, which so far is my least favourite in the series, but I still like it fine. Tears to Tiara II is an interesting one. The characters are typical anime looking and the sprites are adorable and it's a combo visual novel and strategy RPG. But the story is actually incredibly heavy, as it's largely based on the Punic Wars, and I wasn't expecting that from the appearance of it all

    How about you?
  7. So any interesting games you've played lately?
  8. o/ hi-5
  9. Seriously though, we'll get to do a lot of the same scenes if you're playing both Vivi and Garnet. Yay for main cast members
  10. Ahaha xD
