Same thing I've been doing in my file of Blue. I've been rotating through my mons so much I only have a handful to their third level evolution, and I have maybe three Pokemon over level 30.
So for this playthrough of Black I've decided to take a different approach. Pokemon has long since stopped being challenging to me because I always stopped to grind and became overpowered. This time, I intend to speed through the game, devoting as little time to grinding as possible. It's interesting how suddenly I use stat raising and lowering moves much more often and how type advantages actually matter now. And I'll also probably end up rotating my party a lot more because I'll just be catching stronger Pokrmon than I have so I'll use them instead of sticking to one team. We'll see how this goes!
Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker. Though I'm not sure when that'll be. I need to do some less hardcore things now so I can focus on creative stuff
So now that Strange Journey has been conquered, what's your next MegaTen outing?
Well at least I now know I have the option.
Curse you, siblings!
Sweet! I can get my four trade Pokemon Evolutions and a few of the Pokemon I can't acquire in the game. Course I may have to buy a new GameBoy Color since mine seems to have gone kapoot, but I'll save that for another day. I should ask my GF is she still has her old games, but It's doubtful since she told me she had most of them taken away by her younger siblings.
It is! And you can trade Pokemon back from Gold and Silver by using the Time Machine in the POkemon Center, but only under the condition that your party only consists of gen1 Pokemon. This is, by the way, the only case that works that way. Gen3 completely reworked everything about the game's mechanics from a coding perspective, so RBY and GSC are not compatible with RSE, FRLG and so on. From Gen4 there's always some means to transport Pokemon from a previous generation, but it's only a one-way trip there.
Lol, well before hitting up Seafoam Island, I decided to try my luck at grabbing Zapdos really fast. I brought Sandslash and Graveller back into my party (Onix is under-leveled and remedying this issue at the nursery for the moment) and switched Wartortle for Venusaur who I taught Toxic to in order to take advantage of the abusive Toxic/Leech Seed glitch. Course all the damn self destructing Lv. 40 Voltorbs weren't helping, so I'll try my luck again tomorrow night. Question: Is it possible to trade between the GameBoy and GameBoy Color? And if so, can I trade back Pokemon from Silver to Blue as long as they are from Red/Blue, or is it a one way trip?
Haha, yeah, the Safari can be a bitch. Hope it all works out for you! Meanwhile, I've restarted my Pokemon Black game after uploading all my Pokemon from the previous playthrough into Pokemon Bank. Starting with Tepig the fire piggy, as you do. I'm super stoked already :>
