Oh, by the way, since we finished it this weekend - if you haven't played it, the game may feel suffocatingly overhyped (I know it was to me - you really couldn't go anywhere without hearing how it's the best game ever), but I wanted to personally recommend Undertale. It's really good. Short, and it takes some time to get really interesting, but really worth your while.
Yeah, same here. But I remember coming close in Diamond due to them introducing the Global Trade Station and Wi-Fi trades through friendcodes. It's thus pretty achievable in the newer games now, but I haven't actually bothered trying that in later gens, as it's pretty time-consuming with 720 Pokemon to collect. It doesn't help that there's a ton of Pokemon that are event-exclusives now.
Yeah tell me about it. The Gym Leaders after Sabrina are fairly forgettable since they don't pack the same punch as her. Smooth sailing until the Elite Four at least. I may spend some time trying to pick up a few remaining Pokemon from the Safari Zone in between leveling up and evolving a few more of my mons. I really wish I could use the Trade feature because I would totally love a Gengar, Alakazam, Golem, and Machamp in my team right about now, and I'm still sad I've never actually collected them all.
Awesome! Now that you're done with Saffron, I think you've gotten over the biggest hurdle of the game. I mean, you still have the islands and Victory Road ahead of you, but they never felt as bad as Silph Co to me.
Mostly Pokemon Go for me, hopefully I can get a bit more done in Pokemon Blue tonight.

I did so much in Strange Journey yesterday! And it was all much easier than I remember it being! Maya went down very quickly even though she was That One Boss for me back in the day (just like all bosses from Ouroboros onward), then I found the Pale Rider and dealt with him, alignment lock, Cosmic Eggs, beat Mother Harlot, somehow, and then - Zelenin also went down pretty easily! Now I'm level 72 and exploring Horologium. Did almost all of the EX missions so far with only 2 or so left and I got those neat sub-apps that increase money and exp! So things are looking great!
The balance certainly improves with every generation, so that should be nice for you.
We'll see how things go. In Blue I finished everything in Saffron City. Forgot how annoying Sylph Building is, especially if you want all the items. I've actually ran into an issue with items as I've hit the limit on what I can carry because I haven't used any of my TMs. I finally had to plug a few away just to finally make some headway. Don't want to lose the Master Ball. I took down Sabrina's Gym, which was surprisingly easy with the exception of Sabrina herself. I forgot how wonky the A.I. can be in this game. Basically I had her Alakazam fight my Kadabra and because they're both psychic types and Trainers A.I. is set to always use Super Effective moves, the damn thing kept spamming Recover every round since it couldn't use Psychic attacks. Since the computer gets infinite PP, I figured I should reset and try again seeing how the rest of my team got thrashed fighting her team. Kind of annoying that both of the enemy types Psychic is weak to almost always a Poison hybrid, meaning psychic destroys them. Of anything, it will be nice to see a Gen with a little more balance.
