Oh, I know. I have already entered Grus and I got all the way to Horologium last time. Which is exactly why Fornax is the breather level. Clever on the part of the developers. I'd imagine fewer people would be motivated to actually finish the game if all of the final three sectors were equally brutal.
You haven't experienced the next area yet, so bask in the glow of this easy stage, cause the game is simply winding up to hit you harder in the throat. There is no shame in using a map for the next two areas.
Oh yeah, Fornax is definitely the breather level. Not only is it smaller, but it has no traps whatsoever, just a few trap doors. The only challenge in it really are the revived Tyrants and they are only so because you just don't expect them when they show up. Battle-wise, they're nowhere near as hard as the horrors of Eridanus.
It helps Fornax is a bit smaller if memory serves me correctly.
