Conversation Between Fynn and Wolf Kanno

  1. Ooh, Psyduck is pretty cool. And I always liked Poliwag more from gen 2 onwards when it got the alternate evolution of Politoed. It was weird because it was mostly defensive, but at the same time more interesting and I just liked the design a lot more.
  2. Poliwag has a better move pool than some of the water Pokemon I have at the moment. Gyrados is a great water Pokemon, the problem is he doesn't learn any water moves he's high level so I need to use TMs to make him useful in that department. At the moment, Psyduck may become my go to water type. At least until I get Lapras.
  3. Meh, Poliwag isn't that good anyway You can always grind Magikarp to get Gyarados!

Good luck with the Super Rod! I remember it was pretty fun finding all the water Pokemon there. It gets even more fun with gen 3 when they actually introduced a whole crapton of water Pokemon due to the fact that like 40% of Hoenn is water, so they kinda needed to break the monotony.

As for my Strange Journey - well, the song thing happen and things got pretty depressing. At least I got the B-type sanctum access, so I could finish up Melchom's last request. Now I'm in Fornax hunting Black Rider! 10 battles so far and still no sign of him, but I'm not losing hope. The problem here is that one of the enemy search encounters is Hanuman, and he has some vicious counters to physical attacks, so I can't just auto-battle him, which slows things down significantly.
  4. I'm a little annoyed, I really wanted a Poliwag so I could have a decent Water Type, only to find out I can only really get him by going back to the starting areas to fish for him. The issue is that Celadon City is a point of no return for that region so I'll have to wait around until I get Fly and Surf.

Finished Pokemon Tower, getting ready to do Silph Corp building, but I'm using my new Super Rod to finally get some Water Type Pokemon in between leveling up my Pokemon and getting some Evolutions going. Still can't find my copy of Red...
  5. I've been too busy to play sadly. My GameBoy is in retirement since I don't want to buy batteries for it, so I've been playing on a Super GameBoy attachment for my SNES.
  6. It is a completely different experience, though, but it is a good idea to get into it right after gen 1, I think, considering all the Pokemon there. My wife has an interesting experience, I'd expect, because she'd never been into Pokemon at all - only saw an episode or two of the anime and hated it, never tried the game. But she loves the concept of Go and every Pokemon (aside from Pikachu, whom she picked as a starter) is new to her, so there's the added element of discovery that you get when first getting into a new generation fo Pokemon. I'm very envious of her

So how far are you in Blue now?
  7. Well I'm glad you can enjoy both Strange Journey and Pokemon Go. I'm still trying to resist Pokemon Go. I lost my last day off playing Pokemon Blue, so lord knows what would happen if I had it on my phone.
  8. Yup, basically. Though I've found that I am way less sensitive to that stuff than I was, uh... five or six years ago, when I first reached this part. It's funny how when you grow up things look different. But yeah, it's still pretty chilling, and I now noticed how off Jimenez is actually acting after fusing with Bugaboo, something I didn't notice that well before.

In other news, Pokemon Go is finally out here. Sadly, we had immense server issues during the weekend. Things seem to be looking better. Our nearby park, which is actually our favorite park in the world, is positively teeming with Squirtle. My wife caught a bunch yesterday while I struggled to log in.
  9. So basically the part, where everything really does go to hell in a hand basket.
  10. Beat Red Rider yesterday. Was much less luck this time, as I caught him at around my 50th encounter. And I still can't summon him because my level is too low, but it won't take long now as I'm level 56 and he's 59.

Anyway, beat sector Fornax. Tiamat was much easier than I remembered. Thinking of taking on those angels so I can unlock the Morher Harlot battle and then take on the devas to get back to neutral. I hear you just need to be lawful to start the quest, but you can take her on as neutral anyway, so I can battle her after the alignment lock. I still need Unlock C though. Hopefully, I'll get it soon enough. I'm at that stage in the story where Zelenin is about to become and angels and sing to Jack's squad.
