  1. I think Black Rider was the first really mean one and then Trumpeter was pretty nasty as well.
  2. I have just him so far. I think I'll try to take on Red Rider today.
  3. That's cool, who do you have left of the Horsemen?
  4. Yeah, it's pretty cool. And the company acknowledges that - in gen 6, Lapras is the only Pokemon to get a unique surf Sprite.

By the way, got White Rider yesterday! He was my eighth encounter when I went searching for him. Talk about lucky
  5. Yeah, looking forward to that since Lapras is my token Surf Mon. just like Pidgeotto is my Fly Mon.
  6. Pretty sure you can pick up a free Lapeas in Saffron!
  7. He is the fan fave.

I'm doing the Ghost Tower, and being amused by the discovery that Ghost pokemon are highly susceptible to Ground attacks, meaning the Cubone you pick up in the tower can wipe the floor with Ghastly and Haunter. I beat Erica, but I still need to do all the stuff in Saffron City. I wish I had a decent Water type besides Wartortle but I'm having fun playing with Hypnos and Gyardos.
  8. Well, the move sets change over the series a lot, and the starters are pretty much rebalanced now. Charizard still gets special treatment, though, as he and Mewtwo are so far the only Pokemon to have more than one mega evolution.
  9. I know Charmander is basically hard mode, but I'm talking from a meta-game example (again, there are reasons why I chose to avoid this series) and Squirtle just has better advantages overall compared to Cahrmander and Bulbasaur. He has the stronger move set, the best stats, and he's the only great water Pokemon you'll have for a long while in the game and the early sections are crawling with Rock types. It's kind of unfair, because I totally love Charmander more.

As for Evee, I'm thinking Jolteon. I usually go Aquareon because I run "Charmander 4 life", but since I'm avoiding using my defaults in order to experiment with other Pokemon I don't give the time of day for, that has left me in the awkward position of having no real strong Electric types in the early-to-mid-game parts. I have a Voltrobe, but he lacks any good electric attacks until much high levels.
  10. I've never played Blue, really, only Red and Yellow, but yeah, I can see that

Also, Charmander rules, IMO. Granted, Squirtle makes the whole game easier, while Charmander's is an uphill battle, but it's pretty much a design decision. While you don't really get clearly informed that's the choice you're making, your starter choice is basically your difficulty level choice. So you went easy mode That changes in later games where in general you get more Pokemon variety to catch and counter weaknesses, but yeah.

Oh yeah, since you're in Celadon, don't forget to pick up Eevee! Just don't evolve it into Flareon because it won't get any useful moves XD

And yeah, I miss the fiends' theme
