The book I'm reading also had a film adaptation, but I've heard it strays a lot from the source material (although apparently, that's how John Irving wanted it) so it's a mixed bag for fans
The film adaption was prett good as well, especially since Morgan Freeman plays the narrator.
Well, that one I haven't read I'll need to get to it sometime!
That's cool. Kind of a Shawshank Redemption without the prison.
So far it's this narrator recounting certain events in his life that mostly revolve around his best friend from childhood, the titular Owen Meany, and how much he's influenced the narrator's life. It's incredibly well written and despite being very long, it reads extremely fast. It's got this great tone that's mostly light and humorous but also touches on some heavy topics like grief, faith, etc. and there is something about it that just touches me so deeply but I can't really figure out what it is yet.
What is it about?
Well I highly recommend it. I really can't put my finger on what it is, but there is just something remarkable about this book.
I'm afraid I haven't.
Well, at least the whole thing was an overall success within the community. Here's hoping more of these happen in the future! Btw, have you ever read A Prayer for Owen Meany?
Yeah... Got to love Youtube.
