XIII's story isn't something I would call rich and thrilling. For me, the real story that got me in FFXIII was not the background story but that of the journey that the characters went through. If you count that as the main story instead of counting the big bad guy or whatever, then suddenly XIII is much more interesting. I still enjoyed playing it, personally, but it did lack variety in things you could do. A slow starting game, too. XIII-2's story is pretty rubbish, in all honesty. I rarely like time travel storylines. I wouldn't say XIII-2's story is something that you will find thoroughly engrossing, but the gameplay itself is. The story is just a bit on the side, really. And the 'real' ending is rubbish. But one of the other endings is amazing, arguably the best ever in FF history.
So XIII is like watching one hi-res awesome animation with a rich story rather than a lot of in depth playing? I read a bit of XIII-2 story. It is about time travelling right? Is it pretty confusing like Chrono Cross and Trigger?
XIII is, outside of battles, low on gameplay value. I loved the depth in which they reach with characters, though. More time is spent with characters in that game than any other I've ever played, and that allows them to show so much more of their personality and the trials they go through. The story, while perhaps not played out perfectly, is good in that it allows for a massive amount of debate over certain things. Sometimes plot holes can be a good thing - look at the amount of discussion they generate! If everything was always straight forward then perhaps these forums would have much fewer posts, let alone members. XIII-2 is massive on gameplay. Huge!
Holy, you need not keep emphasizing on the young part! lol How was the game? I read about its story and kinda like it but gameplay wise, I heard from Wolf Kanno that there isn't much control over the characters?
I've been good, and young. Young! Not old! Yet! xD And yeah, I played XIII and XIII-2, I really liked them.
